  • For those of you who were inspired by Ryan Parker, our presenter on Monday, and would like look at how poetry looks, sounds and feels like, then come grab a permission slip in guidance from Mrs. Kozik. Ryan will be running one workshop per grade in March. Stop by to get the information and permission slip. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. So don't miss out and stop down today!

  • Continuing our spotlight on Black History Month, today we feature George Washington Carver, who was an African American scientist and educator. Carver is famous for many inventions including a number of uses for the peanut. Carver was born into slavery and went on to become one of the most prominent scientists and inventors of his time, as well as a teacher at the Tuskegee Institute. Carver devised over 100 products using one major crop — the peanut — including dyes, plastics and gasoline.
  • Attention Athletes!  Spring Sports Registration in Power School Parent Portal is now open!! You will not be able to try out unless Registration is complete! The deadline is Friday, March 6th. Spring sports include baseball, softball and track and field. Any questions see Mr. S in the gym or Mrs. Stewart in the Main Office. 
  • Tickets for the Healthy Living Fest will go on sale today morning in the gym common area. 6th graders - get your $5 ticket while you can because tickets are limited! Play corn hole with a police officer, make a friendship bracelet, have a snack, play with slime or play games! The event will be held on Wed., March 4th from 2:40-4:00 pm in the cafeteria. Get your ticket tomorrow so you can join in the fun!

  • It’s time to start casting your votes to determine the 2020 March Madness Book Brackets Winner! Check out and vote on the 8 book match-ups on the LMC page under the March Madness Book Bracket link. You don’t have to have read the books you are voting on; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting. The first round of voting will end on Thursday, March 5th. Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner! Please see Mrs. Longo if you have any questions.
  • Out of the Blue will meet immediately after school this Monday March 2 in room 312 in the Garnet hallway. Members, please bring the piece you have worked on.  Please be sure to see Ms. Olsen before Monday if you are unable to attend.
  • All of Mr. Marci’s classes will be in the auditorium today.  Please bring study materials with you.

  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have French Toast Sticks, in the Grill line you can have Chicken Cordon Bleu and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day and do your best to strive for five!

  • Attention all 6th graders! Do you like to play with slime, create art, play trivia games, win prizes and hang out with friends?  Would you like to play some corn hole with Officer Roy, try yoga, play relay games or join a drum circle?! You can do all this and more at the Healthy Living Fest, held in the cafeteria on Wednesday, March 6th from 2:40-4:10.  This event is for 6th graders ONLY! Tickets are $5 each and will be sold in the lobby on Friday, Monday and Tuesday morning. NO tickets will be on sale the day of the program.  So bring in your ticket money and JOIN US for a FUN and HEALTHY afternoon!
  • Attention all cheerleaders: The end of the season party will be held in Mrs. Edwards classroom next Monday from 2:40-4:10.  Please let her know if you cannot attend.

  • Attention students who plan on trying out for a spring sport...Athletic tryouts forms are due by Friday, March 15th. Please check out the TE website for more details. Spring sports are baseball, softball and track and field.  

  • A big shout out 8th grader Matt Crusha for donating $36 to Pennies for Patients! Every donation makes a difference for patients battling cancer.  Today and tomorrow are the last days to help the cause and to get to our school goal of $300.  Thank you so much to all students and staff who have already donated!

  • T-shirt forms and money are due NO LATER than this Friday!

  • PAWS Conference permission slips are also due by this Friday.
