  • Today everyone will take the next “Having a Voice” survey in Google Classroom after announcements. Homeroom teachers, please remind students to complete the survey before they leave homeroom. Thank you!

  • Monday, February 24th, we will be having a very special guest presenter coming to TE. His name is Ryan Parker and he calls himself an "Edutainer Artivist." Ryan is a motivational speaker who promotes peace-building and confidence-building.  Influenced by hip hop music, he uses his poetry to empower youth. Parker is described as  "a linguistic gourmet chef that chooses words to create a delicacy for the reader to consume and digest until full from pure poetic sustenance."  We are very excited to bring Ryan to speak with all of you.   • Attention Baseball Players: There will be a mandatory, informational baseball meeting on Wednesday, February 26th for those interested in trying out for the Timothy Edwards Middle School Baseball Team.  The meeting will take place in room 121 immediately after school and end at 3:30 PM.  Plan on getting picked up at 3:30 PM or take the 4 pm late bus home. Once again, the meeting will take place on February 26th.

  • Attention all 8th Graders: This Friday we are having our monthly business lunch.  If you are interested in being a police officer or joining the military, you should definitely attend! Sign up today in the counseling office to have lunch with Officer Roy on Friday. 

  • Attention 7th grade Ambassadors:  There will be a lunch meeting on Monday, Feb 24 in the guidance office.  You will get passes in homeroom. 
  • Shirley Chisholm - 1924 - 2005
    Politician & Educator

The first African-American woman elected to Congress in 1968, serving New York’s 12th district for seven terms was Shirley Chisholm. Shirley Chisholm was also the first African-American candidate for a major political party’s nomination for President of the United States in 1972.  Ms. Chisholm was a defender of public school systems, working to secure and preserve funding for inner city schools, especially in her district of Brooklyn.  In 1993, Ms. Chisholm was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.  In 2015, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.

  • Do you ever find a random penny in your couch? Or that quarter that pops up out of nowhere in your car? Well, bring it in for pennies for patients. Be the Change club is holding a fundraiser for local cancer patients until the end of February. You’ll find boxes located in your homerooms where you can place your donation. Even a penny counts, it will help our heroes to find justice. So help be the change by bringing in the change!
  • Just a reminder to all MathCounts participants. This Friday we will have the New England Math League Competition.  We will start promptly at 7:10 am. Be sure to be seated in the cafeteria no later than 7:05 am. Be sure to bring your calculator, pencil and eraser. This will be our last regular MathCounts get together. See you on Friday.    
  • Attention students who plan on trying out for a spring sport...Athletic tryouts forms are due by Friday, March 15th.  Please check out the TE website for more details.  Spring sports are baseball, softball and track and field.  
  • Attention all 8th graders:A great opportunity is available to you!  The counseling department has been hosting  “business lunches” giving you a chance to talk to different people about their careers. It is now time to sign up for the February Business Lunch!  Are you interested in becoming a doctor?   Want to have a career in the medical field?  If so, this is your opportunity to have lunch with Dr. Kelley Sturrock who is an obstetrician-gynecologist. Come find what it takes to become a doctor and what opportunities are available in the medical field! We are honored to have Dr. Kelley Sturrock during the 8th grade lunch on Thursday, February 28th. If you’re interested, Please sign up in the counseling office immediately following the morning announcements today.  Space is limited to 15 students.
