  • Why are Olympians such bad DJ's?  They are always breaking records!
  • Now a few words from peer mediation: Good morning TE!  this is Alyssa reporting on our upcoming Food Drive and Spirit Week. Starting on Monday, January 27th  through Friday, January 31st , we will be holding a food and household goods collection to support our local South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank. There are specific items that the pantry is in need of and this list will be posted in your team areas. In addition to holding this drive, we will be sponsoring a Spirit Week so get ready to show your school spirit! Monday is Comfy/Cozy Day. Wear your most comfortable pjs or sweats. No blankets or stuffed animals please. Tuesday is TE School Spirit Day. You can wear any clothing  supporting TEMS sports, music, your team, school colors (purple, white, and black), etc. Wednesday is Crazy Hair/Hat/Sock Day. You don’t have to do all 3, but feel free to do so if you wish! On Thursday, get ready to dress in the color that represents your grade level! Yup,  it’s Grade Level Color Day! 6th graders will dress in green, 7th in red, and 8th in blue. And, finally, for Friday, it’s Jersey/Sports Day!!! You can wear your favorite sport’s  jerseys, sweatshirts, etc. You can show off which team is your fav! It’s gonna be a really fun week, so don’t miss out on dressing up!  And don’t forget to  bring in your donation! Looking to see who’s got the most school spirit next week!! Donations of a canned good/household item for the SW Food Pantry and/or $1 will be collected on Monday and Friday only. However, if you wish to donate on the other days as well, that would be very much welcomed and appreciated. THANK YOU!!! Your HR teachers will be collecting the $1 donations. And for some additional fun, look for the Super Bowl NFL logos by  the donation boxes. You can show which team you want to win the Super Bowl by placing your donation in that box.

  • Don't forget next week starts our TE After-School Matinee program! Teen Center is on Tuesday. Be the Change, Relay for Life, Kindness is Key, and Cougar Fitness are on Wednesday. Movie Matinee, Woodworking, STEAM, Bowling and Cougar Fitness are on Thursday. See Mrs. Stewart in the office if you have any questions!
  • The boys basketball beat sage park yesterday in Windsor 49-46.  An overall team effort on both the defensive and offensive ends helped the Cougars to the win.  Sage park hit the tying 3 with 10 seconds to play but the Cougars passed it in quickly to Jude Gonzalez and he hit a deep three with less than 3 seconds to give Timothy Edwards the win.
  • Last night the Sage park Chargers "charged" into TE to take on the Lady Cougars in a CRAL match-up.  Unfortunately, TEMS fell 47-28 in the contest.  The Lady Cougars were led by Nour Abunasra with 10 points on the night.  Sharon Iweka added five, while Reagan Heafey-DeAngelis and Brooke Stapleton chipped in four points a piece.  Rounding out the Lady Cougar attack was Angie Santiago, Catherine Downes with two, and Avery Brochu had one from the charity stripe.  The Lady Cougars have a couple days off then are back on the hardwood away to Ellington on Thursday of next week.
  • Great job to our Cougar cheerleaders at the game yesterday! The team, lead by captains Jannaya Nti, Akenti Wiggs, Maddie Comella, and Kiara Plourde did a great job energizing the crowd!
  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have Mashed Potato Bowl, in the Grill line you can have Turkey Cheese on a Pretzel Roll  and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day and do your best to strive for five!
