She was the first female to fly alone across the Atlantic ocean. She was not just a pilot but also wrote a few books about her flying experience. She was a brave woman with a passion for flying, and that took her to outstanding heights in history. Thank you to Taylor Zanelli for putting together the information for these spotlights on women’s history!

  • Women's History Month Spotlight: Susan B Anthony was a women's rights activist, human rights defender and a teacher. In 1852, she helped found the New York Women's State Temperance Society after being prevented from speaking at a temperance conference because she was a female. In 1872 she was arrested for voting in her hometown and she refused to pay the fine. After her arrest she decided to focus her efforts on women's rights to vote. In 1920 her hard work paid off, though she died 14 years before it happened, her work helped lead to passing an Amendment to the Constitution, finally allowing women to vote.
