  • It was a great night for the Lady Cougars as they avenged an early season loss to the east Hartford Falcons. Leading the way was Avery Brochu with 12 points on the night. The Cougars banged on the boards and handled the ball carefully for most of the night. The Falcons were not able to get in the game after the first quarter ended 6 to 6. Slick ball handling from Erin Martin, Mia Ruiz, Sam Roux and Avery Brochu kept the Falcons from using their speed on the defensive side of the ball. Morgan Bridgeforth, and Izzy Dzubin added a bucket on the second held while Shea Brochu, made two key free throws in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. It was a big win for the LADY Cougars 28-18. The girls’ record on the season is 6 and 2. Up next for the Lady Cougars is Tolland at home on February 1st. Great job ladies!

  • The Lady Cougars were back in action last night taking on the Sage Park Chargers here at TEMS.  The first half started off slowly, but the Lady Cougars kicked it into high gear in the second.  Both Erin Martin and Avery Brochu connected from behind the arc early while Sam Roux added a bucket in the first quarter as well.  6th grader Morgan Bridgeforth led all scorers with 10 points on the night.  Equal to the task was another 6th grader, Shea Brochu, with 6 points, all in the third quarter.  Eliza Blanchfield added 4 points on the night, while Izzy Carpenter added three.  Teagan Purcell and Miz Ruiz each added a bucket to the overall tally. The Lady Cougars ran away in the end finishing with 41 points on the night.  Up next for the Lady Cougars is East Hartford today after school.

  • The Lady Cougars avenged an early season loss last night by beating the Lady Wildcats of Ellington 28-21.  It was a hard fought battle throughout though TE clawed their way to victory.  After a back and forth first half, TE led 13-7 with Morgan Bridgeforth driving baseline three times for 6 points.  Not much action for the Lady Cougars in the third quarter, but they still led when the quarter ended.  Going into the fourth, the Lady Cougars led by the slimmest of margins, but Erin Martin made a huge 3 pointer to increase the lead to seven points.  Martin and Keira Deitelbaum had four clutch free throws to ice the game in the end.  A heads up play by Shea Brochu to end the game was a fitting end to the contest.  Up next for the lady cougars is Sage Park on Tuesday at home.  Just remember students are not allowed to attend the game without a parent or guardian.
