  • Congratulations to the softball team for their win over East Hartford Middle School yesterday.  TE outscored East Hartford 14 to 3.  This gives TE an 8 and 0 record so far. Pitcher Meghan Doherty struck out 9 batters and also batted 3 for 3, with 2 singles and one homerun.  Shortstop Olivia Doran also batted 3 for 3 and had one single and TWO homeruns.  Left fielder Amanda Donovan contributed with 2 hits and catcher Brianna LeGare added 3 hits.  TE travels to Sage Park Middle school on Monday.  Good luck!

  • The TE baseball team had another road game yesterday and they once again came up victorious defeating East Hartford by a score of 5 to 4. Lucas Carlson struck out five and pitched a complete game for the Cougars. In the process, he earned his first victory of the season. On the defensive side, the Cougars had one of the best plays of the season. With one out in the 6th, an East Hartford batter hit a line drive into the gap, but speedy Evan Westfall cut the ball off in right centerfield. He threw to the cutoff man Elias Jacobs who then threw to Aiden Jackson at third for an easy tag on the runner!! Offensively, TE had a balanced hitting attack. Jackson and Brandon Gudouskas led the way with a single and RBI each. TE improves to 6 wins and 2 losses on the season. They have a home game today vs. Sage Park. Good luck Cougars!!

  • Yesterday was a close call for the TEMS softball team; walking away with the win and beating Illing Middle School 8 to 6.  TE was tied 6 to 6 going into the 7th inning.  Meghan Doherty started the inning off with a single and made her way to 3rd base with steals only to have Alexis Nisyrios come up to the plate.  Before this at bat, Alexis had hit a single and a homerun, so her team was looking for her to score Meghan.  Second pitch, Alexis crushed the ball to left field to add another home run for the game.  This gave TE an 8 to 6 lead going into the bottom of the seventh.  Illing couldn't answer back and TE took the victory.  Defensive standouts for the game were catcher Brianna LeGare and pitchers Alexis Nisyrios and Meghan Doherty.  Offensive standouts for the game were Reese Pellerin, Lilly Morse, Meghan Doherty and Alexis Nisyrios.  TE travels to Tolland today.  Great win yesterday and good luck today!
  • The TE baseball team played against Illing yesterday and the result did not go in TE's favor.  The Cougars managed only 2 hits in the game...an RBI double by Aiden Jackson and a single by Brayden Edwards. TE's next game is Tuesday at Sage Park.

  • The TEMS baseball team played a home game on Wednesday afternoon against Tolland and the Cougars were victorious, winning by a score of 8 to 3.  With the Cougars up 4 to 3 in the bottom of the 6th, Jaiden (J-Mo) Morales came to the plate with 2 runners in scoring position.  TE needed some insurance runs!  For the second consecutive afternoon, J-Mo crushed a fast ball deep into right field for a 3 run homerun!  The crowd erupted as the Cougars took a commanding 7 to 3 lead.  But they were not done yet!  Pinch hitter Ryder Haynes stroked a laser to left field for back to back home runs...the first time in TE baseball history!  Rounding out the hit parade was Brayden Edwards with 2 singles and Aiden Jackson with a single and 2 RBI.  Daltin Harrision caught a great game for the Cougars and Elias Jacobs continued to dazzle the crowd with his glove at short stop.  Kevin Wind started the game on the mound and kept the Falcons in check for 3 innings.  Morales came on in relief and allowed no runs over 3 and 2/3 innings to pick up the victory.  TE improves to 4 and 1 on the season and has a key matchup today at home vs. Illing.

  • Congratulations to the softball team for another victory yesterday, making their record 5 and 0. TE defeated Ellington in a close game of 5 to 4. Pitchers Meghan Doherty and Alexis Nisyrios played a great game and contributed a few hits total. Reese Pellerin, Olivia Doran and Brianna LeGare added some hits to lead TE to a victory. Defensively, centerfielder Alivia Gliha, catchers Brianna LeGare and Meghan Doherty played well. Nice win! TE travels to Illing Middle School in Manchester tomorrow. Good luck!
  • The TEMS baseball team fought hard yesterday at Orchard Hill Park and came out on top by a score of 11 to 8 vs. Ellington.  The Wildcats had been previously undefeated with a 5-0 record going into the contest.  The Cougars dug themselves an early hole as they found themselves facing a 5 to 1 deficit going into the bottom of the third inning.  That's when the bats finally exploded as TE scored 6 runs in the frame to take a 7 to 5 lead.  The inning was highlighted by a towering 2 run home run to right field by Jaiden (J-Mo) Morales.  A two out rally in the bottom of the fourth with consecutive singles by Evan Westfall, Elias Jacobs and Brayden Edwards scored two more runs .  All three ended up with 2 hits apiece.  Lucas Carson also added two singles and played a stellar left field in the windy conditions. Adding to the hit attack was Brandon Gudauskas who had an RBI ground rule double.  On the mound, Edwards notched his second victory of the season.  He finished with 8 strikeouts in 6 and a third innings pitched.  TE improves to 3 and 1 on the season and plays at home today vs. Tolland.

  • Yesterday, at SWHS, the TE girl's track team competed against Illing and East Hartford Middle Schools. The meet came with a victory and loss. Although the girl's team put forth a great effort, they came up short and lost against Illing 54-46.  The team did have a victory against East Hartford with a score of 46-14.  Izzy Carpenter, Olivia Stoner, and Meghan Foster swept the 1600-meter run.  Kashish took 3rd place in the hurdles with Abby and Annabel Ambooken closely behind.  Maddie Osorio and Sadhana jumped over 13 feet in the long jump with Zoe Bailey and Annabel Ambooken within range jumping 12'6".  Bella Panek, Abby Stoner, and Audrey Zhang threw astonishing distances in the shot put.  And discus was a fun event to see with Izzy Dzubin, Ioana, Audrey, and Bella taking the lead with their throws. Caroline Cavanaugh impressed the crowd by jumping 4'8" in the high jump. Keeley Scott came out of nowhere in the 200-meter run, winning 3rd place.
