  • Good morning everyone, please stand for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday,  September 29th.
  • The TEMS girls soccer team took home a 3-0 win versus Ellington in their home-opener yesterday afternoon. The game began with a slow start, with both teams getting a few chances on goal in the first half. It wasn't until the second half when the Cougars hit their stride. Gianna DiSalvatore and Shea Brochu dominated and controlled the center of the field with support from Teagan Purcell and Maddie Edwards. In defense, Nora Carty, Allison Marques, Jenna Martin, and Pratheeka Dyava remained composed when handling the Ellington threats. Breaking the deadlock, was Abigail Ambooken who volleyed in a cross from Kylah Wood, which really opened up play for the Cougars. Shortly after, Ambooken returned the favor by swinging in another cross as Wood slotted the ball through the goalie's legs and into the back of the net. Rounding out the score sheet, Teagan Purcell tapped in a cross coming from a corner kick from Kylah Wood who ended the day with one goal and two assists. Outstanding performance was had from Annabel Ambooken who demonstrated heart and hustle which really pushed the team forward. Lastly, goalkeepers Hannah Kowalchik and Olivia Lopez left a crisp clean sheet on the day. The Cougars kick off again this afternoon @ JFK.
  • The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team competed last night against the Wildcats of Ellington. It was a hard five game throughout the contest and the score line of 0-0 at half time was justified. In the second half, the Cougars came out ready to fight. They battled for every loose ball and won many challenges in the air. The Wildcats put their best player up top and he was thwarted continuously by Sam Velasquez, Aaron Cherion, and Dalton Crane. Midway through the half, the Cougars gained some momentum and the ensuing corner, Blake Lyons found the back of the net with a blast from 20 yards out. Jack Cinxo was credited with the assist. Both teams kept pressing and though Cougars got the last laugh. Brody Jurczyk secured the 3 points with a shot placed perfectly over the keeper into the back of the net. Final score of 2-0 was spot on. The Cougars next play JFK today after school. Hope to see you at the match.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Tuesday,  September 27th.
  • Do you know why we had yesterday off? Yesterday and today is Rosh Hashanah, a holiday in the Jewish faith. Literally meaning “Head of the Year,” Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the Jewish calendar. It begins a 10-day period of repentance and prayer which ends on Yom Kippur. We celebrate the holiday with services and apples dipped in honey to symbolize the hope for a sweet year to come.
  • The wind was fierce over at Nevers Park Friday night, but not as fierce as the girls cross country team. The Cougars out ran Suffield winning their first meet of the season with a final score of 19 to 38.  Rachel Matyschsyk won the race of 43 athletes with a strong lead over the opponent.  Sixth graders Jana Brownbill, Greta Johnson, and Julia Attenello all broke into the top ten for their first ever middle school meet.  Ria Bhatia had grit and determination as she dug deep during the final stretch of the race and pushed it all the way to the finish.  Another strong finish was made by birthday girl Dharshana Bhuvana as she crossed the finish a fraction of a second faster than a Suffield runner.  Although injured, Haily Velasquez and Aleks Gogic stayed positive and showed solidarity as they cheered for their teammates from the sidelines.  Thank you to team managers Emily Attenello and Anna Fetzko for helping at the finish line and supporting the team.  The Cougars look forward to their next home meet at Nevers this Thursday against Enfield.  Good luck, runners!
  • The boys' cross country team hosted Suffield on Friday, September 23rd. It was a good day to run, but Suffield came out strong taking the first five spots from TE and winning the meet. TE's top five runners were Akilan Anand, Gavin Lippi, Karthik Srikumar, Erik Edstrom, and the top runner from the meet, coming in sixth, was Jeffery Zeng with a time of 16:24. Congrats to the entire team and good luck on Thursday.

  • Last week students and staff at T.E.M.S. created over 800 pinwheels to celebrate International Day of Peace. The pinwheels expressed our hopes and dreams for “WHIRLED” Peace. Thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork with our school and with the entire South Windsor community! Also, Mrs. Reed would like to send a special shout out to Mr. Klein and the many Lime students who helped assemble the pinwheels. Also, thanks to the Lime and Emerald students who helped to “plant” the pinwheels in front of the school!
  • TE will be participating in “Starts with Hello” activities this week and tomorrow is our name tag day! You will write your name on the tag that your HR teacher gives you, wear it, and try to greet other students by name. It’s a great way to help get to know new people and make everyone feel included in our community. We are also asking all staff and students to wear GREEN, the color representing Sandy Hook Promise’s mission of kindness and acceptance. A smile and greeting can make or change someone’s day for the better!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday,  September 22nd.
  • Last night the TEMS Boys Soccer team played host to the Illing Rams in the first of many CRAL battles this season.  It was a highly contested match throughout with both teams fighting to the end.  The first half was favorable for the Cougars as they jumped out to a 1-0 lead courtesy of a headed corner by Ben Perkins.  The service from Brody Jurczyk was delightful and Perkins made no mistake putting the Cougars up one at the break.  The second half was much of the same...meaning the Cougars controlled most of the possession but couldn't add to their tally.  Fran Linares gets credit for the shutout and the Cougars are now 1 and 0 on the season.  TE travels to Suffield today for the first time in the school's history.  Good luck boys.

  • The lady Cougars kicked off against the Illing Rams yesterday afternoon in their first game of the season and came back with a dominant 7-1 victory. The girls had a slow start, but were eventually able to find the net after 15 minutes of the first half. Once the scoring started, it didn't stop. Alina Zajac, Aleksa Zajac, and Kylah Wood each tallied 2 goals on the day, along with Abigail Ambooken who found the back of the net late in the 2nd half. Assists were well distributed from Lilly Jaworski, Allison Marques, Kylah Wood, and Aleska Zajac. Lastly, strong defensive efforts were had by Nora Carty, Julia Thorne, and Kinsley Wood. The girls look forward to their home opener this afternoon in Cougar Stadium against Suffield.
