  • On Wednesday, 5 TEMS Debate Teams continued their quest in the Connecticut Democracy Center's Debate Playoffs. All five teams entered the preliminary quarterfinals, with only 2 TEMS teams advanced to the Semifinals. The team of Gian Handa and Suvan Mantha ended their day of debating in the Semis, finishing in 3rd place. The team of Suhani Kapil and Aarav Pruthi advanced to the Championships but were ultimately out posited by the eventual State Champions and were awarded second place trophies. Congrats to all  the TEMS teams that competed on Wednesday.
  • Thursday afternoon saw the TEMS GOLD Team participate in the Civics First Middle School Mock Trial Championship. Despite a valiant effort by the Entire Team, acting as the Plaintiff, they witnessed GOLD turn to SILVER as they were named State Runner Ups, finishing in 2nd place. A special shout out to Rachel Mathew who was named outstanding witness in the trial. And congratulations on a fantastic effort preparing for trial, superior courtroom skills and exemplary sportsmanship from start to finish.
  • The TE baseball team travelled to Manchester on Thursday and suffered a heartbreaking loss to Illing.  With TE up 4 to 3 in the bottom of the 7th, Illing scored two runs for the walk off, 5 to 4 victory.  Dominic Luangpraseuth pitched the entire game for the Cougars as he did his part in keeping the game close versus the undefeated and first place Rams.  Offensively, TE was led by Kasper Kaczkowski with two hits and an RBI and Ethan Pugrab with a double and two RBI.  TE falls to 4 and 3 on the season.  They play at home on Tuesday against East Hartford.
  • The girls softball team beat Illing Middle School yesterday 9 to nothing.  TE didn't score their first run until the 5th inning, but after that they kept going.  Doubles and triples galore! Lila Sheridan broke out of her hitting slump batting 2 for 4 with included a double.  Riley Quigley and Maria Puniello each hit a triple and Kendall Woods hit a double.  Pitcher catcher combo was dynamite, too.  Pitcher Josie Tomkunas had 13 strikeouts and only allowed two hits.  Catcher Raegan Burnham debuted in her first game as catcher and did an amazing job! TE defense was on point too!  Congratulations ladies!  This was a well deserved win.  The Lady Cougars travel to East Hartford Middle School on Tuesday (what's up brother), May 14th.  Good luck!
  • Attention all Orchestra, Band and Chorus students:  For your music classes today, report to your regular music classroom.  Do not go to the auditorium.  Again, all music students should report to their regular music classes today.
