  • It is that time of year when we start thinking of family and holiday food.  Thanksgiving will be here soon!  Let's not forget that there are families in our community who struggle to put food on their table.  You may have noticed food drive signs around the building and collection boxes in your team hallways.  Won't you contribute a non-perishable food item to help families in our area?  Together we can make a big difference in their lives.  Thank you!!

  • Hello TE, It's Friday and you know what that means! What do you call a useless elephant? I don't know, it's Irr-Elephant!!!!!!!

  • Good morning TE students and staff!  We are here to talk up the collection for Puerto Rico.  We are collecting winter clothes such as hats, mittens, scarves and coats.  We are also collecting school supplies such as notebooks, folders, pencils, markers, and binders.  You might be wondering: why school supplies and winter clothes?  Hartford is one of many U.S. cities that is welcoming Puerto Rican students to their public schools while their own schools are being repaired.  The San Juan Center in Hartford is accepting donations of winter clothes and school supplies to help these families during their stay in Connecticut.  And we can help them!  Our theme is "fill a backpack," so get a group of friends together and fill up a backpack with any items we mentioned.  Look for collection boxes in team hallways and in the main office lobby.  Thank you for your support, TE!!!

  • The Boys Cross Country team took a trip to Wickham Park in Manchester on Saturday for the middle school championships. The weather turned out perfect for running and the Cougars ran well, finishing 21st of 56 teams.  Kyle Sullivan finished the race in 95th to lead the team, with Nikhil Kikanamada, Colin Heslin, Sean Habeeb, Aidan Walsh, Daniel Hegi and Jacob Beaulier also running in the very competitive 2.3 mile "A" race, helping the team to its strong placing. Carlo Papa and Vincent Kuchipudi both brought home medals for finishing in the top 50 of the 1.7 mile race.  Congratulations to the team captains, Nikhil, Alex Turco, Owen Bushman and Owen Jeram on their final races and a great 3 years in which they only had 2 losses. The race capped off another successful year as TE ended with 4 wins, 1 loss, champions of the Geraghty invitational and a 2nd place trophy in the CRAL league. Congratulations and thank you for a great year.

  • The Girls Cross Country team ended their season with 2 wins and 3 losses, coming in 36th of 47 teams at the Wickham Park state meet in Manchester Saturday.  TE toughed it out and gave it their all against the most competitive runners in the state with Audrey Manning taking 77th in the 2.3 mile "A race" in a time of 16:02.  Also looking strong in the A race was Bridget Carroll and Caroline Hegi, who finished neck and neck while breaking 18 minutes on the hilly course.  Riley Baker was the first TE runner to cross the finish in the 1.7 mile "B race", finishing in 53rd place in a time of 13:14.  Other standout runners were cousins Sarah Eldredge and Amanda Walsh, who pushed one another to the finish, both looking strong as they crossed together in 13:32.  Kate Jennings and Mara Vasil didn't get intimidated by the hundreds of runners around them, as they both ran smart holding a consistent pace throughout the race.  Nice work to 6th grader Kavya Ramasamy, who was asked to step in to replace a sick TE runner at the very last minute.  Kavya rallied and gave it her all finishing in the top 7 TE runners.  Congratulations to all runners on a great season.  A reminder to athletes to return cleaned uniforms in a bag with your name on it to Coach Nelson in room 251.  Stay tuned for information on our end of season Cross Country party.
