  • Hello TE! It's time for your daily dosage of Cringe. Why can't you talk around farms? The corn kernels have Ears everywhere!!!! And the Beans-Stalk!!!!!
  • The Lady Cougars hit the hard wood once again last night to battle the Lady Cats of Ellington.  It was a hard fought battle throughout the game, though TE prevailed with 27-23 victory.  The Lady Cougars were led by Lexie Wheeler with 11 points, while Maria Galley, Hayden Courtois, and Anna Matus added eight, 4 and four respectively.  Overall, the Lady Cougar defense held strong and allowed their opponent very few open looks at the hoop.  What's next on the horizon? The Lady Cougars next play East Hartford today after school, then they are back in action on Monday at home against JFK from Enfield.

Like to prove your point and want a career helping others win their cases?  If so, this is your opportunity to hear from Mr. Lagasse an expert in his field. Come hear what it’s really like to be an attorney! We are honored to have Mr. Lagasse during the 8th grade lunch on Thursday, February 8th. Be one of the first 15 students to sign up in the counseling office.   • "Everyone stop what you're doing and listen!  We have excellent news!  The Timothy Edwards literary magazine is incredibly proud to announce that we have won another national award for our sixth year in a row!  We placed with a ranking of "Excellent" in the NCTE's national literary magazine contest.  We are one of only two middle schools in the ENTIRE state to win this honorable ranking and it would not be possible without the hard work of our club members and the wonderful submissions from our students and staff.  We thank you all immensely and hope that you will contribute to our magazine again this year to help us produce another fabulous issue!"

  • The TE Lady Cougars battled Sage Park of Windsor last night in a CRAL match up. A highly contested game which was difficult for everyone to keep up with, the Lady Cougars fell to the Chargers 25 to 22. There were a lot of Blood Sweat and Tears On The Floor, as the Lady Cougars put their entire hearts and bodies and minds into the game. Leading the Cougars was Lexie Wheeler, Haydin Courtois and Maria Galley with six points a piece. Reagan H-D, Nour Abunasra and Bridget Doherty each chipped in with 2 a piece. The lady cougars next play on Thursday at home against Ellington. Come out and cheer on the girls.

  • The Cougar Community Service Club meeting will be held in Mrs. Stetson's room in the Ruby Team hallway, room 235, today after school.

  • Last week's TE winter hat sale went very well.  Although there are still some left, they won't last long. So, TE Paw Print winter hats will be on sale during morning bus time in the front lobby this week until they sell out.  Hats are only $12.  Cash or checks made out to the TEMS PTO will be accepted.  Get your Pom Pom Cougar hat soon, before they are all gone. 

  • There will be a Cougar Community Service Club meeting after school on Wednesday.  We will be making miniature clay bowls for the upcoming Empty Bowls event.  Stay tuned for the meeting location.

  • Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 23, all students will participate in the first round of the National Geographic Bee.  The first round will begin immediately after morning announcements on the TE TV News channel and take approximately 10 minutes.  Questions are designed to test knowledge of geography.  The top 10 students at TE will be invited to compete in the final and championship rounds.  At the beginning of April, our school winner will represent TE at the state level competition.  So, remember to bring a pencil to homeroom tomorrow.  Good luck!

  • The Lady Cougars were back on the hardwood last Friday in another tough CRAL matchup with Manchester's Illing Rams.  Unfortunately, the Lady Cougars were on the wrong side of the score line losing 40-26.  It was a very strong effort from the girls, but they couldn't maintain their lead after the first quarter.  Leading the Lady Coug's was Maria Galley with 15 points, while Lexi Wheeler and Hayden Courtois added five and Ava Magarain chipped in one.  The girls play again on Tuesday night.

Don't delay to enter the 2018 History Day Competition. For more information, contact Mr. Smith-Horn.

  • If you signed up to go tubing at Powder Ridge, meet in the main lobby by the office after the bell rings this afternoon with all of your belongings. Again those students who signed up to go snow tubing meet in the lobby right after the bell.

  • Last Friday morning, a record 92 TE students participated in the MathCounts in-school competition.  The top eight scorers will be invited to represent TE at the Hartford Chapter MathCounts competition at the University of Hartford on Saturday, February 3rd.

The results are as follows:  Scoring in 10th and 9th places are 2nd alternate, Abby Donovan; and 1st alternate, Anthony Chen.  Placing 8th through 5th and representing TE as individual participants in the chapter competition are: Andrew Bell in 8th; Tim Sigler in 7th; Daniel Wang in 6th, and Pranav Ramesh placing 5th.  The top four TE scorers will individually compete and also make up the TE Team at the Chapter competition.  They are: Michael Ngo, placing 4th; Yunfei Zheng placing 3rd; Jaideep Naik in 2nd; and the TE top scorer, Aryan Kalia.  

The competition was very competitive and the scoring was extremely close.  Only 3 points separated the 10th through 5th place scorers.  And the top four scorers were only separated by 5 and 1/2 points.  Congratulations to the top scorers and to all 92 students for a very fine effort.  

MathCounts is not finished.  We will have the New England Math League competition in February. Remember, we will not meet this coming Friday, but we will meet a week from Friday.   

  • Attention all students in Mr. Marci’s music classes,  please bring study materials with you and report directly to the auditorium for music class today. 

  • "The literary magazine Out of the Blue will NOT be meeting this Wednesday January 17.  Please pay attention to TETV news for details about our next meeting."

  • Mr Goric's set building crew will meet Wednesday this week. Again Mr Goric's set building crew will meet tomorrow after school. If you cannot attend this meeting then we will see you next week.

  • The Lady Cougars were in action last Friday night, taking on the Sage Park Chargers from Windsor.  Although, the Lady Cougars roared back in the second half, the early damage was done and the Cougars fell 28-20.  Maria Galley had a team high 10 points, while Haydin Courtois chipped in three and Jada Reyes-Tran, Ella Suppicich and Ava Magarian each had two.  Lastly Lexie wheeler, who took a knock to the head in the 3rd quarter added a free throw.  The Lady Cougars take on the Illing Rams and Mackenzie Hall on Friday of this week.

  • The boys basketball team pulled off a tough win against Illing middle school 61-47. The game was tied at halftime at 21 and a run at the end of the third quarter put the cougars ahead for good. Led by a stinging defense that pressured the ram resulted in some easy baskets for the cougars. A balanced offense and an overall team effort with unselfish play led to a well deserved, hard fought win.
  • Are you looking for something fun to do tonight?  A little Dancing, some Volleyball or Whiffle Ball?  If so, come to our one and only Activity Night event of the school year.  Tickets will be on sale in the main lobby Wednesday morning until Friday morning.  Tickets are $7.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door and the event runs from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. So get out of the cold, come hang out with friends and have some fun!

  • Good morning TE!  We are a part of the H.E.R.O.E.S. Club.  Our name stands for Helping Every Rank Over Every Sea, and that’s what we are asking you to do – help our officers who are working to help us.  We have a fundraiser happening at school right now, and we need your help. It’s time to give back to those who fight to keep our country safe and protect our freedoms.  Our plan is to create care packages to send to our active troops.  What we need from you are donations to fill the packages. If you have any non-perishable food items, travel toiletries, or entertainment items like playing cards, board games that you would like to donate – just add it to the box in your team hallway labeled, “Military Care Package Donation Box”. We will also have a poster put up in your team hallway so that you can see the items we are accepting for donation.  These are items  that our troops would greatly appreciate. Thank you for helping us help our HEROS!!

  • There is no Science Olympiad for Mrs. Longdin's group today after school due to a science department meeting.  She is available Wednesday and Thursday this week! Keep up the good work.

  • The TE Lady Cougars were on the court last night, but fell to the Falcons of East Hartford.  Leading the way for the Lady Cougars was Maria Galley and Lexie Wheeler with four points each.  Ava Magarian, and Reagan H-D shipped in two while Anna Kim and Nour Abunasra each made a free throw.  The Lady Cougars play on Friday at home against Sage Park from Windsor.  Come out and cheer on the girls.

  • Entertainers rehearsal today is for all named characters - members of the chorus/ensemble do not need to attend today.  Tomorrow's rehearsal is for the ENTIRE CAST.
