The goal was followed up by a penalty kick taken by the skipper Megan Martin who calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net bringing the score to 2-0. Defensively, the Cougars were solid at the back as Hailey Testa, Sidney Montana, and Chion Pollard helped secure the victory. Outstanding play came from left back Leighana Ferrabelo and center midfielder Iniya Raja who provided countless defensive stops for the Cougars. Katelyn Roux tallied two goals on the day along with another added by 6th grader Elise Suffish. Captains Sarah Gordon and Lexi Lilly also found the back of the net with assists coming from Emerson Iacovelli and Chion Pollard. The lady Cougars tallied an astounding 7-0 win over their opponents. Strong midfield possession came from Emerson Iacovelli, Abby Peruccio, and Mikayla Evans. The flanks kept East Hartford on their toes with threatening crossing into the box from Leighana Ferrabelo, Chion Pollard, and Ritika Abburi. The game was one of 'firsts' as Katelyn Roux, Haley Testa, and Huntyr Courtois found the scoreboard for the first time this season. Additionally, 8th grader Emily Ledger tallied a wonderful goal off an assist from Sarah Gordon. Leading the pack with 3 points on the day was Lexi Lilly. Gordon posted a total of two assists on the day with additional assists coming from the feet of the strikers Elise Suffish and Katelyn Roux. Outstanding performance goes to Hailey Testa, Huntyr Courtois, and Megan Martin who played exceptional in the midfield and helped to secure the Cougar victory. Sophie Finer and Abby Bergstrom did a great job distributing the ball through the midfield and Avery Fournier and Greta Slater played great defense. Ria Saxena did a great job clearing the ball. TE lost the second game with a score of 2-1. Avery Yelle scored the only cougar goal on a brake a way popping the ball right past the goalie. Hannah Edstrom, Julia Craig, Morgan Reed and Avery Vencus also played a great game. The teams next game is Thursday, home against Suffield.

  • The TEMS girls kicked off against rivals Ellington yesterday afternoon in a very physical match. The match was mostly even as defenders Huntyr Courtois, Sidney Montana, Iniya Raja, and Hailey Testa kept the threat low. Outstanding plays came from Mikayla Evans, Hailey Testa, Anna Matus, and Megan Martin who demonstrated hustle and determination throughout the game. The Cougars fought hard and were able to keep the score tied at half-time. In the second half, TE let in a quick two goals and couldn't seem to recover. Through balls played by Emily Ledger and Megan Martin opened up gaps, but were not enough to give TE the momentum they needed. Katelyn Roux had a strong second half with a few chances on goal. Roux linked up with the likes of Lexi Lilly and Arden Sansom for a few plays, but Ellington was able to prevent TE from finding the back of the net. Hailey Butler played strong between the goalposts making six saves on the day. The Cougars face East Hartford at home next Tuesday at 3:30. Come out and support the team!

  • The TE Boys Soccer team were in action again last night taking on the Wildcats of Ellington. Unfortunately the Cougars were taken down by the cats as they fell 4 to 1. Aadi Dey had two superb efforts on goal though the Cougars weren't able to follow up and put them in. Next up the Cougars travel to east Hartford on Tuesday.

  • Good Morning TE - The 3rd Annual PTO Walk-A-Thon will kick off on Wednesday.  This is our only fundraiser of the school year and we need your support!  Our school goal is to raise $20,000 and our individual student goal – that’s you – is to raise $50.  The money we raise helps to support activities and events sponsored by our school.  On Wednesday you will receive a packet of information that tells you and your family how to go on line to begin the pledge process.  So our kick off date is Wednesday, September 26th.  Our Walk-a-Thon date is Wednesday, October 17th.  You will have almost a month to get those pledges.   There are incentives, too!  As you raise money, your name gets put into a raffle to win some pretty cool prizes like gift cards to Starbucks, Barnes/Noble, Ben and Jerry’s, Jump Off and CineMark.  Also, the top fundraising student in each grade will receive a $100 cash prize, and the overall top team will win a pizza party.  We will be highlighting amounts raised by each team in the cafeteria so that you can watch how your team is doing.  So let’s get ready to do our best to reach that goal!! Have a great day, do your best and ALWAYS STRIVE FOR FIVE plus ONE.
