  • BE THE CHANGE - GAME DRIVE - The BE THE CHANGE Club will be holding a game drive from Monday, February 3rd through Wednesday February 12th.  Games will be sent to the Holy Family school in the village of Hopkins, Belize, Central America. The Principal of the School, Miss Nunez, is looking for FUN, NEW games (sorry - no used games) with very simple directions.  Please bring in games like Sorry, Yahtzee, Trouble, Chutes & Ladders or Twister. YOUR donation will make a BIG difference in the lives of these student. Games may be dropped off in the box in your team hallway. So - THANK YOU & BE THE CHANGE...
  • There is a Neon Dance tomorrow. Dance tickets will be on sale in the lobby today through Friday. Tickets will cost $7.00.  If you purchase a ticket the night of the dance, it will be $10.00. Hope you can come to the dance!

  • Don't forget MathCounts people - we will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00.  This will be our last practice before the New England Math League competition which will be the Friday after break.  Be there -  MathCounts tomorrow at 7:00.  

  • The Outdoor Education Club has three upcoming trips.  We will be snow tubing at Powder Ridge on February 21st, then it’s Stone Age Rock Gym on February 27th, and lastly we will be going to the South Windsor Arena for ice skating on March 26th.  Please stop by the main office, see Mr. Wilkinson in room 112, or Ms. Nelson in room 251 for a form if you’re interested in any of these adventures.   
  • Attention Athletes!  Spring Sports Registration in Power School Parent Portal is now open!!  You will not be able to try out unless Registration is complete! Deadline is Friday, March 6th.  Any questions see Mrs. Stewart in the Main Office.
  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have Cajun Chicken Sandwich, in the Grill line you can have Philly Cheese Steak and in the so Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day and do your best to strive for five!

  • The GSA, Gay-Straight Alliance’s, first meeting is today after school. It does not matter how you identify; anyone can attend and everyone is welcome. We will meet in Mrs. Zaugg's classroom, Room 332, on the Pacific Team. We look forward to seeing you on today!

  • Good morning! Spirit for tomorrow, Thursday, is Grade Level Choice. For 6th grade it's crazy hair and mismatch day. For grade 7, it's color wars day,  so wear your favorite color. And for 8th grade, it's decades day, so you can wear an outfit from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, etc. And don't forget to bring a $1 or a household item for Friday's comfy cozy day!
  • The T-shirts are back, the t-shirts are back!!! Back by popular demand, we have decided to open orders for team t-shirts for a limited time. These team t-shirts can be ordered through a link on the school website. Sales will be through February 10th, and no late orders will be accepted. So if you missed out in the fall, here is your chance to get one of those awesome student designed school t-shirts.
  • Attention all TE staff and students!  Out of the Blue needs you!  We are looking for your drawings, photography, poems, short stories, and anything else you would like to submit!  You could even win a prize!  We have a contest for our cover art, a piece representing the values of Strive for Five, and a contest for the best poem or short story!  Contest forms are available in the office and on the TE homepage.

  • Attention all TE students who love to play volleyball.  Volleyball intramurals will be starting February 20th.  Come alone or grab some friends to play Volleyball or Nu Kem after school on late bus days.  Volleyball intramurals will be offered February 20th, 21st, 25th, 27th, 28th, and March 4th weather permitting.  If you are interested please pick up a permission slip in the boys or girls locker rooms. 

  • The Girls basketball team defeated a tough East Hartford team yesterday, by a score of 32-27.  The Cougars had a balanced offense, getting points from 7 different players.  Leading the way with 9 points was Ava Magarian and Olivia Petgrave had 6.  Anna Matus chipped in 5 and Jada Tran added another 4.  Defensively, the Cougars were led by Reagan Heafey-Deangelis with 2 steals and Princess Black with 6 rebounds.  The team continues the push to the playoffs with a game today at JFK and tomorrow at Sage Park.  

  • Today for lunch... In the Create line you can have Korean BBQ Bulgogi Beef Noodle Bowl, in the Grill line you can have a Corn Dog and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches.  Have a great day, do your best, and remember to always strive for 5!
