  • Why hello there. My name is Pritam Appikatla. Out of the Blue is an award winning magazine! You should submit to it. We are doing a contest in which we pick one piece to be on the cover of our magazine.  You will also get a gift card.  Two guidelines: 1.) You shouldn't have erasure marks on your piece and it should look like it took some time to make and 2.) You cannot have copyright material - this includes any characters from famous pieces of art. If you win you will get your piece laminated and a free copy of the magazine. Also, you will be in the Out of the Blue literary magazine. Stay tuned to the news in future days to hear about other contests!
  • Be the Change meets today in room 251, Board Games meets in room 334, Kindness is Key meets in room 211, and Relay for Life meets in room 341.

  • This is a reminder to those students who received an invitation to the National Geographic Bee final round of competition.  Remember to meet at 12:35 in room 223 in the Scarlet Team hallway.  Bring your lunch if needed.  Good luck and see you this afternoon for the final round!

  • The Outdoor Education Club has three upcoming trips.  We will be snow tubing at Powder Ridge on February 21st, then it’s Stone Age Rock Gym on February 27th, and lastly we will be going to the South Windsor Arena for ice skating on March 26th.  Please stop by the main office, see Mr. Wilkinson in room 112, or Ms. Nelson in room 251 for a form if you’re interested in any of these adventures.

  • The Be The Change Club will hold a Bake/Snack sale at the boys basketball game today. All of the proceeds will go to local animal rescue organizations, in support of the Poppers For Puppies Fundraiser. So bring some money and buy some snacks during the game. The Be the Change Club and the basketball team look forward to seeing you on Wednesday after school!

  • To show your school spirit tomorrow, be sure to dress in your grade level's color! Can't wait to see a sea of green in 6th grade, raging red in 7th grade, and a blast of blue in 8th! And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to drop off a donation to our SW Food Pantry in a box in your team area. Or you can make a contribution of a dollar or more by giving it to your HR teacher.
  • Just reminder - there will be no regular MathCounts meeting this Friday. The eight students headed to Saturday's competition will meet in Mrs. Goldman's room, room  354 on the Indigo team, at 7:15 Friday morning.  All competitors are requested to be present for this meeting.

  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have Chicken Tenders, in the Grill line you can have Chicken Bacon Cheddar Melt and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day and do your best to strive for five!

  • The Outdoor Education snow tubing trip at Powder Ridge this Thursday is full.  If you signed up already, please see Mr. Wilkinson or Ms. Nelson to get a waiver form.  The waivers must be completed and turned in for you to go snow tubing.  Forms are still available for rock climbing or ice skating, so sign up before they fill up too!
  • A friendly reminder that the GSA, Gay-Straight Alliance, will be having its first meeting after school tomorrow, January 30th. It does not matter how you identify; anyone can attend and everyone is welcome. We will meet in Mrs. Zaugg's classroom, Room 332, on the Pacific Team. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!
  • The grade 8 Orchard Hill Connection program is canceled today.

  • Don’t miss this year’s NEON dance on Friday February 1st! That’s right, the NEON dance is back again this year by popular demand. Get your ticket in the main lobby starting on Monday. Tickets are $7.
  • Attention all students who have Mr. Marci for Music class today; please report directly to the auditorium for your Music class today.  Please be sure to have your Chromebook and earbuds.
  • Mr. Chandler's 8th grade Health class: please bring your Chromebook to class today.
  • Be the Change Club needs you! We are trying to raise some profits at the girls basketball game this Wednesday for POPpers for Puppies, a fundraiser started by the preschool program here at TE.  We will be selling snacks and drinks so that we can donate the profits to POPpers for Puppies. Your money will support local animal rescue groups so they can help animals in need. See you at the game this Wednesday, and don’t forget to bring some money for snacks and donations to POPpers for Puppies!
  • The boys lost to Sage Park 65-36 Friday afternoon.  The Cougars stayed within striking distance but a fourth quarter run secured the win for Sage Park. The boys dropped to 4-6 on the season.  Come check out the team for the last home game of the season against JFK!
