  • The Boys Soccer team were in action last night taking on the Illing Rams of Manchester.  The game was back and forth until Josiah Chamberlain drew a foul at the top of the box and Jack Stricker hammered home the free kick.  However, in just a few minutes, the visitors drew level and then they were ahead 2-1 just like that.  In the second half, Aadi Dey converted a spot kick, after Chamberlain drew yet another foul.  The visitors continued to press and got a third to make the final score 3-2.  The Cougars next game is Tuesday after school when they take on JFK from Enfield.
  • The TEMS lady Cougars kicked off against the Illing Rams yesterday afternoon. The Cougars began with strong pressure from the wings as Sarah Gordon, Arden Sansom, and Lexi Lilly displayed great offensive pressure in the first half. In midfield, Megan Martin proved to be a complete player as she stopped numerous attacks, but also distributed the ball evenly to help put the team in scoring position. Early on crosses swung in frequently, but the lady Cougars struggled to find the back of the net. Late in the first half, TE struck first as midfielder Emily Ledger found the foot of Elise Suffish who hammered the ball into the back of the net scoring her first goal as a Cougar. This goal was vital as it proved to be the game winner. In the second half, TE took a more defensive approach allowing Iniya Raja and Huntyr Courtois to demonstrate their ability to keep the Rams at bay. Defensive highlights also came from Hailey Testa and Sidney Montana who both had amazing composure and were relentless in keeping the ball in the offensive half. Goalkeeper Haley Butler managed the game between the pipes and made three saves on the day in order to keep a shutout. Shots in the second half came from Kaitlyn Roux, Emily Ledger, and Abby Peruccio. The Cougars look forward to face JFK in Enfield next week on Tuesday at 3:45.
