  • The Fit A Thon is a quarter of the way to reaching our goal of $12,000 raising $3,000!  Congratulations and thank you to those who have already donated. For individual Fit A Thon results, Emory Forko is in the lead for the 6th graders, Payton Beaudreau has raised the most for the 7th graders and Paige Lambert is in the lead for the 8th grade.  Remember, the winner in each grade gets $100 in cash!!! Good luck everyone! And now for our raffle!  Everyone who has raised at least $10 in donations has been entered to win! The first $10 Dairy Queen gift card goes to Brendan Soucy Grade 6. The second $10 Dairy Queen gift card goes to  Bailey Baker Grade 7. The last raffle winner today of a $10 Dairy Queen gift card is Jenna Martin Grade 6. Congratulations to all our winners!  You can pick up your prizes in the office.  Remember the next raffle is Tuesday morning!  Everyone who has raised at least $20 in donations for Fit A Thon by 8pm, Monday night is automatically entered to win one of the three $20 Oakland Pizza gift cards.   • The SW Teen Center is open to middle school students beginning on October 20th, on Tuesday and Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Join us at the teen center to unwind, have a snack, or catch up on school work! This will be based on cohorts so we can follow the same protocol as the middle school.  Space is limited, so if you are interested in reserving a spot for a four-week session, please email or call Danielle at the Teen Center at [email protected] or 860-648-6360. The Teen Center will also be utilizing our Twitter and Remind account for information on programs and reminders for events.   • All TEMS Students: join us for the 5th Annual STEAM Olympics - which will be a VIRTUAL SYTEAM OLYMPICS this year. Join the Google classroom, register to compete in a variety of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematical activities and competitions including Science Kahoot Quizzes, Coding, Balsa Wood Building, Photography, Environmental ART, Virtual Math Escape Rooms and  the VIRTUAL AMC-8 test will all be included once you register! ALL events will be held via Google MEET with most activities beginning at 3 PM weekdays with each session lasting no more than one hour. Activities will begin the week of October 19th and continue through November 20th.   • Galileo said, "Nature is written in mathematical language." Step into nature and step into TE MathCounts.  Though not quite the same as years past, MathCounts will be just as exciting.  MathCounts will be held virtually.  If you are interested, use the Google Class Code: bu3u6id to join.  It is that simple.  The first "practice" will be posted on Monday, October 26.  For more information ask your math teacher or contact Mrs. Goldman in room 228 or Mr. Denker in room 224.  Don't be shy, check it out.
