TE Morning News - January 29, 2020
  • Why hello there. My name is Pritam Appikatla. Out of the Blue is an award winning magazine! You should submit to it. We are doing a contest in which we pick one piece to be on the cover of our magazine.  You will also get a gift card.  Two guidelines: 1.) You shouldn't have erasure marks on your piece and it should look like it took some time to make and 2.) You cannot have copyright material - this includes any characters from famous pieces of art. If you win you will get your piece laminated and a free copy of the magazine. Also, you will be in the Out of the Blue literary magazine. Stay tuned to the news in future days to hear about other contests!
  • Be the Change meets today in room 251, Board Games meets in room 334, Kindness is Key meets in room 211, and Relay for Life meets in room 341.

  • This is a reminder to those students who received an invitation to the National Geographic Bee final round of competition.  Remember to meet at 12:35 in room 223 in the Scarlet Team hallway.  Bring your lunch if needed.  Good luck and see you this afternoon for the final round!

  • The Outdoor Education Club has three upcoming trips.  We will be snow tubing at Powder Ridge on February 21st, then it’s Stone Age Rock Gym on February 27th, and lastly we will be going to the South Windsor Arena for ice skating on March 26th.  Please stop by the main office, see Mr. Wilkinson in room 112, or Ms. Nelson in room 251 for a form if you’re interested in any of these adventures.

  • The Be The Change Club will hold a Bake/Snack sale at the boys basketball game today. All of the proceeds will go to local animal rescue organizations, in support of the Poppers For Puppies Fundraiser. So bring some money and buy some snacks during the game. The Be the Change Club and the basketball team look forward to seeing you on Wednesday after school!

  • To show your school spirit tomorrow, be sure to dress in your grade level's color! Can't wait to see a sea of green in 6th grade, raging red in 7th grade, and a blast of blue in 8th! And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to drop off a donation to our SW Food Pantry in a box in your team area. Or you can make a contribution of a dollar or more by giving it to your HR teacher.
  • Just reminder - there will be no regular MathCounts meeting this Friday. The eight students headed to Saturday's competition will meet in Mrs. Goldman's room, room  354 on the Indigo team, at 7:15 Friday morning.  All competitors are requested to be present for this meeting.

  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have Chicken Tenders, in the Grill line you can have Chicken Bacon Cheddar Melt and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day and do your best to strive for five!
