TE Morning News - January 9, 2019 
  • Attention students...Are you interested in improving your overall fitness or maybe you want to get in shape for the up and coming softball, baseball, or track season?  If so, there are still spots available for the Cougar Fitness Club.  This is an after school activity that starts on Wednesday, January 16th. Registration forms are due soon so pick up a form in the main office or see Mrs. G or Mr. S for more information.

  • The TEMS annual Activity Night will take place this Friday, January 11th from 6:30 pm -8:30 pm. We will have a DJ in the cafeteria so that we can dance, a movie in the library media center if you prefer a quiet activity and pin guard, whiffle ball, volleyball in the gyms.  Tickets are $7.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door.  Tickets are on sale today – Friday in the main lobby before school.  Buy your ticket and come join the fun.

  • Attention all MathCounts participants.  The in-school competition will be this Friday morning.  Be sure to be seated in the cafeteria as close to 7:00 as possible.  Be sure to bring your own calculator, a couple of pencils and an eraser.  Again, be seated in the cafeteria as close to 7:00 as possible.  The competition will start by 7:10 pm.  And don't forget your calculator, pencil and eraser.  Hope to see you there.  

  • Tomorrow all students will participate in the first round of the National Geographic Bee.  The first round will begin immediately after morning announcements on the TE TV News channel and take approximately 10 minutes.  Questions are designed to test knowledge of geography.  The top 10 students at TE will be invited to compete in the final and championship rounds.  At the beginning of April, our school winner will represent TE at the state level competition.  So, remember to bring a pencil to homeroom on Thursday.  Good luck!

  • The Lady Cougars took on East Hartford last night in a pivotal CRAL match-up. Ava Magarian led the Lady Cougar with 11 points while Olivia Petgrave chipped in with 10 and Anna Matus contributed nine in the 40 - 23 victory. Morgan Reed, Princess Black, Huntyr Courtois, and Blossom Iweka all had as least 2 points.  Iweka was cleaning the glass too with 10 strong boards while Black and Magarian both had eight. As a team, they had 45 total rebounds. The Lady Cougar next play at home against Sage Park on Thursday after school...come out and cheer on the team.

  • Attention yearbook staff: We will be meeting after school on Thursday to go over the results of the 2019 Yearbook survey. Room 123. See you there!

  • The boys basketball team lost a tough game yesterday to East Hartford 73-50.  The Cougars stayed close for most of the game until East Hartford went on a run to seal the game.  The team dropped to 2 and 2 on the season.  The boys play again on Thursday vs. Sage Park in Windsor at 3:30.  Hope to see you all there.
  • Today for lunch... In the Create line you can have Philly Cheese Steak, in the Grill line you can have Corn Dog and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches.  Have a great day, do your best,  and remember to always strive for 5!
