TE Morning News - October 12, 2018 
  • Brian Murdoch with the Joke of the Week: Why can't koala bears go to college?...Because they don't meet the koala-fications, and they can't bear to leave home!
  • The 8th Annual Kenny Offiaeli 3 on 3 basketball tournament will be held on November 9th from 5:30-8:00. This tournament is open to all TEMS students. Registration forms and checks must be handed in to the main office by Monday October 22nd.  Students may pick up a form in the main gym.

  • Attention students...are you ready for the first school dance of the year?  The Athletic Department is sponsoring a Halloween costume dance on Friday, October 19th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  Tickets go on sale Monday morning in the main lobby.  Tickets cost $7 if you buy them before the dance and $10 if you buy them at the door.  No masks or props are allowed!!

  • Walk-A-Thon Wednesday is next week!  Keep up the great work getting those pledges!!  We've raised almost $13,000 already and together we can reach our $20,000 school goal!! So far the only team to reach the $2,000 team goal is the Lime team.  Watch out though, Garnet, Sage and Evergreen are hot on your heels with many other teams well on their way.)  Don't forget, the overall highest fundraising team earns a pizza party! There's one more chance to win a raffle prize before the fundraiser.  Students that have raised $50 or more will be automatically be entered to win one of three $50 Cinemark Movie Theater gift cards.  Good luck everyone!   • If you signed up for the Block Island bike ride for tomorrow, there is a chance it will be rained out. We will be deciding by the end of the day today based on the most current weather forecast. Please listen to the afternoon announcements to hear the decision.  If the trip is cancelled, we will also post the cancellation on the TE website. 

  • Wondering about MathCounts? Well wonder no more. MathCounts will have its first get together Friday the 26th of October. That is the last Friday of the month. See your math teacher for an information sheet and stay tuned for more MathCounts news.

  • The TEMS Feild Hockey team is selling beads in the main lobby before school this week and next to help raise funds for the CT Make a Wish foundation. Go down on your way to homeroom and grab some. They are a great way to make your friends smile, or just show off your spirit.

  • Today for lunch... In the Create line you can have French Toast. In the Grill line you can have Turkey Hot Dog and in the On the Go line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day, do your best and remember to always strive for 5!
