  • The TEMS girls kicked off against rivals Ellington yesterday afternoon in a very physical match. The match was mostly even as defenders Huntyr Courtois, Sidney Montana, Iniya Raja, and Hailey Testa kept the threat low. Outstanding plays came from Mikayla Evans, Hailey Testa, Anna Matus, and Megan Martin who demonstrated hustle and determination throughout the game. The Cougars fought hard and were able to keep the score tied at half-time. In the second half, TE let in a quick two goals and couldn't seem to recover. Through balls played by Emily Ledger and Megan Martin opened up gaps, but were not enough to give TE the momentum they needed. Katelyn Roux had a strong second half with a few chances on goal. Roux linked up with the likes of Lexi Lilly and Arden Sansom for a few plays, but Ellington was able to prevent TE from finding the back of the net. Hailey Butler played strong between the goalposts making six saves on the day. The Cougars face East Hartford at home next Tuesday at 3:30. Come out and support the team!

  • The TE Boys Soccer team were in action again last night taking on the Wildcats of Ellington. Unfortunately the Cougars were taken down by the cats as they fell 4 to 1. Damian Ayala scored the lone goal for the Cougars. Xavier Crane; Erik Montes de Oca and Kyle Castro played strong in defense. Aadi Dey had two superb efforts on goal though the Cougars weren't able to follow up and put them in. Next up the Cougars travel to east Hartford on Tuesday.

  • Good Morning TE - The 3rd Annual PTO Walk-A-Thon will kick off on Wednesday.  This is our only fundraiser of the school year and we need your support!  Our school goal is to raise $20,000 and our individual student goal – that’s you – is to raise $50.  The money we raise helps to support activities and events sponsored by our school.  On Wednesday you will receive a packet of information that tells you and your family how to go on line to begin the pledge process.  So our kick off date is Wednesday, September 26th.  Our Walk-a-Thon date is Wednesday, October 17th.  You will have almost a month to get those pledges.   There are incentives, too!  As you raise money, your name gets put into a raffle to win some pretty cool prizes like gift cards to Starbucks, Barnes/Noble, Ben and Jerry’s, Jump Off and CineMark.  Also, the top fundraising student in each grade will receive a $100 cash prize, and the overall top team will win a pizza party.  We will be highlighting amounts raised by each team in the cafeteria so that you can watch how your team is doing.  So let’s get ready to do our best to reach that goal!! Have a great day, do your best and ALWAYS STRIVE FOR FIVE plus ONE.

  • Congrats to the Girls Cross Country team on their first place victory at the Harry Geraghty Invitational. 17 TE runners earned a medal by placing in the top 25.  Among these included Audrey Manning who came in 2nd with a time of 14 minutes and 49 seconds on the 2 mile course as well as Madelyn Syme, Taylor Lord, Emma Lord, and Molly Caron, who all finished in the top 11. Annaliese Mills and Sophia Cinxo both made big strides each taking nearly 2 minutes off their times from last year.  The Cougars look forward to their next race against JFK of Enfield this Tuesday. Good luck, runners!
  • The Boys Cross Country team ran their first race of the season Saturday morning and put on an impressive performance. • The Boys Soccer team were in action last night taking on the Illing Rams of Manchester.  The game was back and forth until Josiah Chamberlain drew a foul at the top of the box and Jack Stricker hammered home the free kick.  However, in just a few minutes, the visitors drew level and then they were ahead 2-1 just like that.  In the second half, Aadi Dey converted a spot kick, after Chamberlain drew yet another foul.  The visitors continued to press and got a third to make the final score 3-2.  The Cougars next game is Tuesday after school when they take on JFK from Enfield.
  • The TEMS lady Cougars kicked off against the Illing Rams yesterday afternoon. The Cougars began with strong pressure from the wings as Sarah Gordon, Arden Sansom, and Lexi Lilly displayed great offensive pressure in the first half. In midfield, Megan Martin proved to be a complete player as she stopped numerous attacks, but also distributed the ball evenly to help put the team in scoring position. Early on crosses swung in frequently, but the lady Cougars struggled to find the back of the net. Late in the first half, TE struck first as midfielder Emily Ledger found the foot of Elise Suffish who hammered the ball into the back of the net scoring her first goal as a Cougar. This goal was vital as it proved to be the game winner. In the second half, TE took a more defensive approach allowing Iniya Raja and Huntyr Courtois to demonstrate their ability to keep the Rams at bay. Defensive highlights also came from Hailey Testa and Sidney Montana who both had amazing composure and were relentless in keeping the ball in the offensive half. Goalkeeper Haley Butler managed the game between the pipes and made three saves on the day in order to keep a shutout. Shots in the second half came from Kaitlyn Roux, Emily Ledger, and Abby Peruccio. The Cougars look forward to face JFK in Enfield next week on Tuesday at 3:45.

  • The lady Cougars faced off against fierce opponents Tolland in their home opener yesterday afternoon. The game proved to be a tough match against a strong opponent as the Cougars lost 5-0. In the first half, the Cougar's tried to get a rhythm as Abby Peruccio and Emerson Iacovelli linked together numerous passes. Amazing defensive performances came from Megan Martin, Sidney Montana, Hailey Testa, and Huntyr Courtois. Rounding out the wing backs was Anna Matus and Chion Pollard, who with the support of the Haley Butler in goal, helped hold Tolland to only 1 goal by halftime. In the second half, Lexi Lilly, Emily Ledger, Katelyn Roux, and Sarah Gordon created a handful of chances, and did an amazing job pressuring the Tolland defense. The Cougars displayed hustle throughout the second half with great tackles from 6th grader's Elise Suffish and Ritika Abburi. Additional opening day highlights came from Leighana Ferrabelo, Mikayla Evans, and Iniya Raja, as the trio helped to halt countless Tolland attacks. Goalkeeper's Haley Butler and Catherine Downes totaled 14 saves on the day. Overall, it was a hard-fought game for the Cougars as they look forward to their first away game on Thursday at 3:30 against Illing.
  • The Boys Soccer team were in action last night taking on Tolland. The boys came out a touch flat allowing the Falcons time and space thus leading to four goals for the opponent. TE picked it up in the second half led by Xavier Crane and Aadi Dey. Scoring for the cougars was Dey from the penalty spot and Kiran Francis on a follow up in front of the goal. Next game for TE is Thursday after school.

  • Today looks like another wonderful day but how long will it last, let's take a look at your forecast. Today temperatures will be just around eighty degrees with some clouds in the morning hours but then sun for the rest of the day. It looks like we can finally see a hint of fall in our forecast because temperatures will be dropping into the mid to low seventies by the end of the week. Tonight temperatures will be in the upper sixties but as we continue the week it looks like our low temperatures will be dropping into the fifties. We will be seeing sunny skies today but then we will be dealing with the remnants of Hurricane Florence which will bring some heavy downpours on Tuesday but then we will be seeing sunny skies on Wednesday again. Jordan Cosman TETV Morning News, guys, back to you.
