  • Tomorrow is the last day of our spring spirit week. Lets do our best to show our school spirit for Friday by dressing up for Sports Day -  so come dressed to show off your favorite sports team (college or pro). Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

  • If you have BOX TOPS at home, please bring them to school so we can raise money for our PTO.  This money is used to fund field trips and other fun activities here at school.  Box Tops can be submitted to Mrs. Ruschmeier in room 314.  

  • The collection for the food bank has been extended thru the end of this week! You have until Friday morning to donate a non-perishable item to help South Windsor families in need. The collection is being sponsored by the South Windsor Public Works department. Please help our community by bringing in some items and placing them in the bin located in the TEMS lobby. Items needed include snacks, juice boxes, cereal, rice, pasta, sauce, soup, canned fruit and toiletries. So remember to help our neighbors by supporting the S.W. Food Bank. Thank you!

  • The softball team played their best game of the year yesterday in the field and with the bats in an 11-5 victory over Tolland. The offense was led by Sienna Hart scoring 4 runs and getting 2 hits and Ava Shasha getting 3 hits. Sarah Kayam, Taylor Nisyrios, Lylah Henneman, Maggie Poulin, Aricka Bousa and Adrianna Peruccio all had hits. Leading the defense with outstanding plays were Lily McCully, Gabby Ryan, Adrianna Peruccio and a game ending catch by Ava Shasha. The girls play their last game on Friday. 
  • This is a friendly reminder that all TE library materials are due back on Wednesday, June 6th. Students and staff, if you see any stray TE library books in the hallways or in your classrooms, please return them to the LMC. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Mrs. Longo.

  • GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLL! Hey soccer fans - Do you want to take your game to the next level?  If so, join Mr. Chandler and Mr. S this summer for Cougar Soccer Camp the last week of July.  In order to attend, please sign up through the Rec Department.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Chandler and Mr. S for more information.  Improve your game this summer at Cougar Soccer Camp!

  • The TEMS baseball team defeated Tolland on a cool and dreary Wednesday afternoon by a score of 9 to 3.  Ben Balducci picked up his fourth win of the season on the mound for the Cougars.  Offensively, Balducci helped his own cause with 3 singles and 2 runs scored.  Sam Pines doubled and had 2 RBI and Colin Heslin, Peyton West and Brayden Dill each had RBI singles for TE.  The win gives the Cougs a record of 9 wins and 2 losses.  They now have sole possession of first place in the CRAL.  TE finishes off its season at home today against JFK.  Come out to support the team!!!

  • On Saturday, select members of the boys and girls track team competed at the State Championship against the best track athletes from all over CT. The boys team finished 7th out of 34 clubs and teams.  The girls team finished 20th overall.  Ben Tortora moved into 10th place in TE history with his 800 run.  Many athletes had Top Ten finishes at the meet. Wyatt Cote finished 9th in the 200.  Jaden Sinclair was 9th in the Shot Put. Jessica Pollack was 10th in the 100.  Jack Stricker was 4th in Discus.  Kaitlyn Baumgartner finished 9th in the High Jump and 3rd in the 4 by 100 with Sidney Montana, Arden Sansom and Jess Pollack.  Ares Savvides finished 6th in the 1600. Alexia Lilly finished 5th in the 55 Hurdles. And the top 400 runner in the state is Sam Meleshenko with a time of 54.20, which moves him to 2nd all time in TE history.  He also earned gold with the 4 by 400 team of Ares Savvides, Kyle Sullivan and Hakim Montgomery.  All athletes competed at a high level and represented Timothy Edwards proudly! Thanks for a great season track team!

  • In celebration of National Public Works Week, the South Windsor Public Works department will be collecting non-perishable items for the S.W. Food Bank. Please help our community by bringing in some items and placing them in the bin located in the TEMS lobby. Items needed include snacks, juice boxes, cereal, rice, pasta, sauce, soup, canned fruit and toiletries. So remember to help our neighbors by supporting the S.W. Food Bank. Thank you.

  • The Timothy Edwards baseball team improved to 7 wins and 2 losses on the season with a convincing 14 to 4 victory over East Hartford at Orchard Hill Park.  TE had a balanced offensive attack, scoring 3 in the 2nd and 5 runs in both the third and fourth innings. The Cougars were led by Ben Balducci with 2 hits including a double and RBI and Mike Foran and Joey Russo with a double and RBI each. Jaden Glatt, Colin Heslin and Andrew Goulet each singled and had an RBI. Russo picked up the win on the mound. The Cougs head to Windsor today to play Sage Park.  

  • The softball team beat East Hartford in a come from behind victory by a score of 10-8. The offense was led by Lylah Henneman with three hits including 2 bombs deep in the outfield for doubles. Iris Wen scored three runs, Ava Shasha had  two hits including the game winning hit. Aricka Bousa , Gabby Ryan, Grace Benashski, Iris Wen and Sienna Hart each contributed with a hit apiece. On the mound Taylor Nisyrios pitched a complete game striking out ten and allowing only four hits. With runners on base in the last inning Gabby Ryan made the catch of the day, to end the game.

  • ATTENTION: All students from trimester 1 and 2 who had Ms. Gravell for art this year should come down to room 123 to pick up their clay projects during first and second period on Friday!

Do you like PE class or like to exercise?  Well, TEPEE camp is for you!  You will have the opportunity to take part in different physical education units and games such as handball, tennis, soccer, and pinguard (just to name a few). TEPEE camp will be held the week after school ends from 8:30 am to noon, June 24th through June 28th.  If you are interested, you can sign up online through the recreation department. See Mrs. Giaccone for more information.
  • Do you enjoy volleyball, hanging out with your friends, and having fun? TE will be hosting a Volleyball tournament on June 6th. You and your team can sign up to play in the 3 PM to 5 PM slot or the 6 PM to 8 PM slot. There will also be other fun activities available as well as food. All proceeds go to Iniya, Valli, and Ria so they can travel to compete in National History Day. Forms can be found from your homeroom teacher or in Room 358. It is going to be a fun event you won't want to miss.

  • Where do French Fries originate from? Grease!

  • Thursday, June 6th, the TEMS eighth grade EXCEL will be hosting a volleyball night in the gym. Gather your friends for an evening of fun! The theme this year is space, in honor of Valli Pendyala’s and Ria Saxena’s wonderful documentary on NASA’s Apollo 1 mission, which is going to the National History Day competition, as well as popcorn, in honor of Iniya Raja, who is also going to Nationals, and her wonderful love of popcorn. You and your team can sign up to play in the 3 PM to 5 PM slot or the 6 PM to 8 PM slot. There will also be other fun activities available as well as food. All proceeds go to Iniya, Valli, and Ria so they can compete in National History Day. Forms can be found from your homeroom teacher or in Room 358. Good luck girls!  
  • Yesterday the softball teams offense was led by Adrianna Peruccio and Taylor Nisyrios with two hits each and Maggie Poulin and Ava Shasha with one hit each. The catch of the day was made by Ava Shasha in center field as the team lost to Illing. The team will play East Hartford on Tuesday.

  • The Timothy Edwards baseball team lost a tough game to Illing on Thursday afternoon by a score of 3 to zero.  The Cougars' bats were silenced as they managed only one hit which was by Nathan Grilli.  Ben Balducci pitched well for the Cougars.  The loss drops TE to 6 and 2 on the season.  They play at home on Tuesday against East Hartford.

SWHS coaches for girls and boys soccer, girls and boys x-country, girls volleyball, girls swimming and diving, football and field hockey will be hear to speak about summer training and tryouts that will occur before the start of school in August.  If interested please sign up during PE class.  Any questions see Mrs. Custer or any PE teacher
  • Have you seen this year’s colorful issue of Out of the Blue?  Isn’t it amazing!  Well, if you did not submit to the magazine, you can still have your own copy!  You should even get your friends or students or peers to sign their amazing work!  You never know, it could be worth a lot one day!  Copies of our magazine will be sold for $5 in Ms. Olsen’s room, room 312 in the Garnet hallway.  Please try to bring exact change.  Your support by buying a copy of our magazine will help us as we try to reach new goals to expand our magazine and add new features next year!

  • The boys track team competed at the CRAL Championship yesterday, winning the meet with 80 overall points, 6 points better than the next closest team!  It took an incredible team effort, with many standout performances.  Wyatt Cote finished 2nd in the Shot Put and 200 meter dash. Ben Tortora and Colin Grip were ferocious in the 800 meter race, finishing 2nd and 4th, both with Personal Records.  Ares Savvides dominated the 1600 meter run, and cruised on the final lap to secure 1st place.  Shane Jewett and Devon Charron were strong in the 55 meter hurdles, finishing 2nd and 4th.  Jaden Sinclair stepped up huge and earned 3rd place in the Shot Put, while Jack Sticker and Vineet Kuchipudi were strong in the Discus, earning 2nd and 3rd place.  And the highlights came from the relay teams.  The 4 by 800 team of Aidan Walsh, Shubhan Tamhane, Colin Grip and Ben Tortora got the meet rolling with 2nd place.  And the 4 by 400 team of Ares Savvides, Kyle Sullivan, Hakim Montgomery and Sam Meleshenko set a Personal Record of 4 minutes flat.  Sam Meleshenko also set a PR for the 400 meter dash, running 55.16 seconds.  Congratulate the boys if you see them today for all the hard work they put in! Go Champs!

  • Congrats to our lady cougars on their 3rd place finish at the CRAL track meet yesterday.  There were many outstanding performances.  Lexi Lilly took first place in the hurdles, Kaitlyn Baumgartner took first place in the high jump, Mercedes Rodreguiz took third in the long jump, Sophia McCormack took 3rd in the shot put, Morgan Reed took 3rd in the discus, Olivia Petguard took 2nd in the 800 meter run, Jessica Pollack took 3rd in the 100 meter dash, and Sarah Gordon took third in the 400 meter run.  The most outstanding performance came from the TEMS 4 x 100-meter relay.  In this event, Jessica Pollack, Arden Sansom, Kaitlyn Baumgartner, and Sidney Montana took not only 1st place in the meet but now hold the 1st place TEMS ALL-TIME RECORD for this event.  This record has not been broken since 1985!  CONGRATS GIRLS!

  • Congrats to the Boys Track team. They placed first in the annual CRAL league tournament yesterday. Many boys had personal bests and everyone helped carry the team to victory!

  • Today we showcase TE Baseball Super Star Sean Habeeb. Did you know that Sean has been told he looks like Daniel Radcliff? His favorite vegetable is broccoli and he is a big fan of the Flash. Make sure you come to the game today to cheer on Sean and the rest of the TE Baseball superstars as they take on Illing of Manchester.

  • Each year the South Windsor Patriotic commission hosts a Student Essay Contest.  I would like to acknowledge and congratulate this year’s winners: First Place:  Dhanya Chasmawala, eighth grader on Indigo Team, Second Place:  Aditya Jha, sixth grader on Lime Team and for Third Place:  Smriti Rajan, another sixth grader on Lime Team. Congratulations to you!!

On another note, Mrs. Morgan Hostetler, who will be taking over after I leave, is anxious to meet you all.  She will be holding two opportunities for students to come meet her.  The first one is on Monday, June 3rd from 2:40 – 4:05 and the second is on Thursday, June 6th from 2:40-4:05.  She will be in our Library Media Center so stop by and say hello if you are available. 

Last but certainly not least, last evening our Superintendent, Dr. Kate Carter, hosted an award presentation evening.  A fifth grade student from each of the town's elementary schools, an eighth grade student from TE and two SWHS school seniors receive the CT. Association of School's Superintendents Award.  The award recognizes students who are kind, genuine and true ambassadors of our school community.  It is my honor to announce that Daniel Nazeri from Pacific Team was the recipient from TEMS.  As Mrs. Longdin put it, "Daniel, you are our MARVEL". Congratulations, Daniel.  Also, congratulations to Mrs. Polito's daughter, Jessica was a SWHS recipient!! Have a great day, do your best and ALWAYS STRIVE FOR FIVE plus ONE!

  • The girls softball team played outstanding defense against Ellington yesterday Taylor Nirois pitched very well with 15 strikeouts. Ava Shasha made three catches in center field and threw a runner out at second base The play of the day was courtesy of catcher Sienna Hart throwing to shortstop Adrianna Peruccio to get a would be base stealer. On offense Laylean Garcia, Lylah Henneman led the way in the loss. The team plays again tomorrow at Illing School in Manchester.
  • The TE baseball team suffered their first lost of the season on Tuesday afternoon, losing to Ellington by a score of 6 to 5.  Andrew Goulet kept the Cougars in the game by pitching 5 innings of scoreless relief.  Offensively, TE was led by Joey Russo with 3 singles and 2 RBI.  Chipping in with 2 hits a piece were Ben Balducci, Peyton West, Sam Pines and Mike Foran.  TE remains in first place with a 6 and 1 record.  They play a home game Thursday against Illing of Manchester.  Come out to support the Cougs!!

  • Good morning!  I am Ms. Olsen and I am the Out of the Blue club advisor. I’m Hailey Deptula and I’m one of the Out of the Blue club members and editors-in-chief. We are pleased to announce our contest winners for the 2018-2019 school year and would like to thank all the students, alumni, and staff who submitted, because your work truly is what makes our magazine so phenomenal! It is with great pleasure that we would like to celebrate the winner of our cover contest, Karen Luo!  Your colorful cover is magnificent and you are truly talented. We hope you enjoy the gift card to Amazon as well as a certificate to celebrate your accomplishment. Additionally, Harper Benitez is our cover art honorable mention and her colorful cover is featured on the back cover of this year’s magazine. Congratulations to our winner Florentina Sahaya, for her beautiful drawing.  Florentina won a gift card to Amazon as well as a certificate to celebrate her accomplishment. We would also like to congratulate Raisa Khaled for her inspirational concrete poetry titled “Earth.”  Your poem gave a very important message. Raisa, here is a certificate to celebrate your accomplishment. Thank you again to everyone that submitted to our magazine.  We hope you all enjoy reading this year’s colorful issue of Out of the Blue, which will be distributed to those who submitted at lunch!  Also, if you would like a copy to purchase, we are going to sell copies of our magazine starting tomorrow May 15 in room 312, in the Garnet hallway.  Copies will sell for $5 each.  Please be sure to bring exact change.  Your support and generosity will help us with our goals to expand our magazine next year.  
  • TE Baseball would like to invite students and staff to come cheer them on this Thursday at home when they face off against the Illing Rams.  Today we would like to tell you about two of the TE Superstars you can see on the field this Thursday. First up is Braden Dill. Did you know his favorite class was Spanish, or that his favorite TV Show growing up was Barney. Maybe you can bring him a fruit roll up Thursday... Next up is Colin Heslin... Did you know his favorite subject was science, and one day he hopes to be a Neuroscientist... Maybe if you come on out to the game you will see his hidden talent... Now a quick sampling of the amazing plays you will see if you come out to the game...
  • Summer camp announcement!  TEPEE camp is back! Do you like PE class or like to exercise?  Well, TEPEE camp is for you!  You will have the opportunity to take part in different physical education units and games such as handball, tennis, soccer, and pinguard (just to name a few). TEPEE camp will be held the week after school ends from 8:30 am to noon, June 24th through June 28th.  If you are interested, you can sign up online through the recreation department. See Mrs. Giaccone for more information.
