  • Where do math teachers go on vacation? Times The Square. Where do Hornets go on holiday? Sting-apore! Where to Sheep go to relax? The Baaaaaahamas!
  • Do you love writing, poetry, drawing, photography, and more. Then you should submit to Out of the Blue, our school’s nationally awarded literary magazine for 7 years in a row!!! You might win 1 of our contests, such as our cover contest, Strive For 5 contest, or even our writing contest. But you have to submit to win! You never know, maybe you could even get an Amazon gift card that is worth at least $20! Just remember to get a form. Forms are located in the main office, the Garnet hallway, and on the TEMS homepage. Did you know that 6th grade Sage team has the most submissions in the whole school! The other 6th grade teams are not far behind. But, 7th grade and 8th grade need to up their game. Remember that all submissions are due, Monday April 15, the day we come back from April Break. Some teachers even will give you extra credit for your submissions. Time is ticking, so please submit. OUT OF THE BLUE NEEDS YOU!!!
  • Do you like the weight room?  Do you want to enhance your physical fitness? If so, the fitness club is for you.  The spring session of the fitness club will be starting after April break.  It will be held every Monday and Thursday until 4:00 pm, starting April 15th and ending May 23rd.  If you are interested, sign up through the Rec Department starting on April 4th at 8:00 am.  There is more information in the girls and boys locker room or you can see Mrs. Giaccone.

  • The Outdoor Ed. Club has two final outings coming up this May.  The first is a trip to Block Island for a bike ride and the last is to Collinsville to either paddleboard or kayak- students' choice.  If you received a form for the bike ride this week it is because you signed up for the fall trip that got canceled.  Be sure to return the form tomorrow if you want to go because after April vacation the Block Island bike trip will be opened up to all TE students.  Forms for the paddleboarding and kayaking trip are available now in the main office, or you can see Mr. Wilkinson or Ms. Nelson for a form.    

  • Do you love golf? Or do you want to learn how to play? Please join Mr. Chandler for golf at Willowbrook every Wednesday starting April 17th. This program is run through the Rec Department, and you can sign up either through the website or in person at the Rec Department. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Chandler in the main gym or in room 121. Spots will fill up fast so please don't delay in registering. 

  • Today for lunch, in the Create line you can have Scrambled Eggs, in the Grill line you can have Crispy Chicken Club, and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of fresh made deli sandwiches. Have a great day, do your best today and remember to always strive for five!

  • Today we are celebrating the LIME Poster Contest Winners. Posters were created in Health classes with the focus on anti-smoking and vaping. The following students were given prizes during the Healthy Living Month celebration. Congratulations! In 3rd place was Victoria Davies, in 2nd place was Jani Ganesh, and in 1st place was Alexis Le. Honorable Mentions go to Lilah Cabahug, Saumya Shekhar, Nkailu Nsakala, Jada Bruce, Jeremy Shiju, Ava Lewis, and Sudeeksha Sajjana.

  • TE students!  Time is running out.  We need your submissions for Out of the Blue.  We want your artwork such as drawings, poetry, photography, comic strips, opinionated pieces, or anything else you would like to submit.  We already have many great submissions and know there can be more.  The deadline is Monday April 15, the day we return from April break. Be sure to take some time to showcase your talent over April break!  Thank you!

  • A great big shout out to all of the Peer Mediators for assisting with Healthy Living Month. They made informative posters, sold tickets, helped at the Healthy Living Fest and played trivia games at the 6th grade celebration. Thank you to ALL of the Peer Mediators and to Mrs. Zalaski!

  • Today we are celebrating the SAGE Poster Contest Winners. Posters were created in Health classes with the focus on anti-smoking and vaping. The following students were given prizes during the Healthy Living Month celebration. Congratulations!  3rd place is Aaahritha Satruish, 2nd place is Kristina Le and the 1st place winner is Nazli Durdu. Honorable Mentions go out to Sonit Shah, Saanvi Rao, Lilliana Fraize, Goutham Rao Dhenuvakond, Ray Chen, Jaya Pichay and Julia Jawarski.

  • Attention all students trying out for track.  Tryouts will begin this week until 4:30.  Girls tryouts will Wednesday, April 3rd.  Boys tryouts will be today and Thursday, April 4th.  If you have any questions please come see Mrs. Edwards and Mr. Millard.

  • This is a reminder that Out of the Blue will NOT be meeting today.  Students should go home on their regular bus.

  • It’s that time of year again- time to take part in helping choose the Nutmeg Book Award winners of 2019.  The Nutmeg Book Award is our state book award and is chosen by students in grades 4 to 8. You must have read at least one or more of the current Nutmeg nominees to be eligible to vote AND can only vote once. To cast your vote, navigate to the main LMC page and click on the link for either the 2019 Intermediate or Teen Nutmeg Nominee ballot.  Voting starts on Monday, April 1st and runs through April 18th. Please see Mrs. Longo if you have any questions.
