  • Why hello there. My name is Pritam Appikatla. Out of the Blue is an award winning magazine! You should submit to it. We are doing a contest in which we pick one piece to be on the cover of our magazine.  You will also get a gift card.  Two guidelines: 1.) You shouldn't have erasure marks on your piece and it should look like it took some time to make and 2.) You cannot have copyright material - this includes any characters from famous pieces of art. If you win you will get your piece laminated and a free copy of the magazine. Also, you will be in the Out of the Blue literary magazine. Stay tuned to the news in future days to hear about other contests!
  • Be the Change meets today in room 251, Board Games meets in room 334, Kindness is Key meets in room 211, and Relay for Life meets in room 341.

  • This is a reminder to those students who received an invitation to the National Geographic Bee final round of competition.  Remember to meet at 12:35 in room 223 in the Scarlet Team hallway.  Bring your lunch if needed.  Good luck and see you this afternoon for the final round!

  • The Outdoor Education Club has three upcoming trips.  We will be snow tubing at Powder Ridge on February 21st, then it’s Stone Age Rock Gym on February 27th, and lastly we will be going to the South Windsor Arena for ice skating on March 26th.  Please stop by the main office, see Mr. Wilkinson in room 112, or Ms. Nelson in room 251 for a form if you’re interested in any of these adventures.

Can't wait to see a sea of green in 6th grade, raging red in 7th grade, and a blast of blue in 8th! And if you haven't done so already, don't forget to drop off a donation to our SW Food Pantry in a box in your team area. • The boys basketball beat sage park yesterday in Windsor 49-46.  An overall team effort on both the defensive and offensive ends helped the Cougars to the win.  Sage park hit the tying 3 with 10 seconds to play but the Cougars passed it in quickly to Jude Gonzalez and he hit a deep three with less than 3 seconds to give Timothy Edwards the win.
  • Last night the Sage park Chargers "charged" into TE to take on the Lady Cougars in a CRAL match-up.  Unfortunately, TEMS fell 47-28 in the contest.  The Lady Cougars were led by Nour Abunasra with 10 points on the night.  Sharon Iweka added five, while Reagan Heafey-DeAngelis and Brooke Stapleton chipped in four points a piece.  Rounding out the Lady Cougar attack was Angie Santiago, Catherine Downes with two, and Avery Brochu had one from the charity stripe.  The Lady Cougars have a couple days off then are back on the hardwood away to Ellington on Thursday of next week.
  • Great job to our Cougar cheerleaders at the game yesterday! The team, lead by captains Jannaya Nti, Akenti Wiggs, Maddie Comella, and Kiara Plourde did a great job energizing the crowd!
  • Today for lunch in the Create line you can have Mashed Potato Bowl, in the Grill line you can have Turkey Cheese on a Pretzel Roll  and in the So Deli line you can have your choice of deli sandwiches. Have a great day and do your best to strive for five!

  • On Thursday, January 16, all students will participate in the first round of the National Geographic Bee.  The first round will begin immediately after morning announcements on the TE TV News channel and take approximately 10 minutes.  Questions are designed to test knowledge of geography.  The top 10 students at TE will be invited to compete in the final and championship rounds.  At the end of March, our school winner will represent TE at the state level competition.  So, remember to bring a pencil to homeroom on Thursday.  Good luck!

  • The GSA will be starting up again for the new year! Do you want to help make TE more inclusive?  Do you want to help advocate for yourself and others?  Do you just want to get your voice heard and spend some time talking with friends about what matters to you?  If so, join us on Wednesday, January 15th, in Room 352.  See Mrs. Gulick for more details!
