  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, April 3.
  • Out of the Blue is looking for cover art submissions, we ask that you do some type of artwork with the words out of the blue incorporated and the school year 2022-2023. Cover artists will be recognized accordingly, if you wish to be recognized, that is. We are looking forward to seeing and showcasing all the great talent TE has, so if you have a piece of writing or artwork that you are proud of please submit it.
  • Have you ever had a great idea to share some kindness with the world, but didn’t have the money to make it happen? Well here is your chance! South Windsor Youth and Family has created a new MAKE A CHANGE Mini Grant, which encourages STUDENTS to put their ideas into action. This grant to specifically for students to submit, but you can have an adult in the building support your proposal. The project should promote or inspire kindness, contribute to positive mental health, support inclusion OR encourage a positive school community. Each grant awarded will have a $200 maximum. For more information and for a link to the application, go to the main TEMS page and click on MAKE A CHANGE mini grant. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Reed in Room 209. Proposals are due by Friday, April 7th.
  • Do you have gently used sporting equipment that you no longer need?  Give them a second life by donating it to Equipment Assist.  Equipment Assist is a local program run by 3 high school juniors who are collecting items to donate to the Hartford Police Athletic League (PAL) and Active City, which benefits underserved youth.  From now through April 30th, we are collecting all types of gently used sports equipment including but not limited to: cleats, ice and hockey skates, baseball gloves, balls, helmets, shin guards, etc.  All sizes are acceptable.  South Windsor pick-ups will be on April 2nd and 30th.  If you have questions, or to schedule a pick up, please email [email protected]
  • To all students registered for track tryouts.  Tryouts begin today.  Tryouts will be held after school from 2:45-4:30.  Please arrange your transportation home in advance.  Remember to dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. 8th grade boys and girls will be today.  7th grade boys and girls will be tomorrow Tuesday, April 4th.  And 6th grade boys and girls will be on Wednesday, April 5th.  See you then!

  • Dance tickets are selling fast, and it looks to be a fun night tonight.  Every person that buys a ticket will have their name entered into multiple raffles that will be pulled every 30 minutes of the dance.  Raffle prizes include gift certificates from Sweet Frogs, Dairy Queen, Dunkin, Dave and Busters, and more.  That's four chances to win per store!  Good luck and get your dance ticket soon!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, March 30.
  • Hey everyone! My name is Dhanya Sanakkayala and I’m here with Levina Jerald. We just wanted to ask everyone to submit to Out of the Blue, which is a national award winning magazine. We would love to see you submit photographs, poetry, comic strips, artwork and short stories. We’re especially looking forward to seeing submissions for short stories and cover art. We accept short stories, poetry, comic strips, photography and artwork.  We are also looking for cover art submissions.   • SAGA will be hosting a special event tomorrow, March 30th, after school in room 145. SAGA will be hosting some very special guests from South Windsor High School. Make a plan to stay after until 4:00, tell your friends, and join us for a great SAGA meeting! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, reach out to Miss Carver or Mrs. Reed.

  • Today's Science Olympiad Shout Outs include more medal winners!  Congratulations to the following students: Dhanya Sanakkayata & Sania Thokchom - 2nd place finish in Can't Judge a Powder, Krish Patel & Vishwesh Wadje - 3rd place finish in Green Generation, Prasun Modi & Vritti Oberoi - 1st place finish in Meteorology, Vishwesh Wadje & Aashrith Gummandi - 2nd place finish in Forestry, Vishwesh Wadje & Krish Patel - 3rd place finish in Disease Detectives, Asmi Kulkarni - 2nd place finish in Dynamic Planet and Sania Thokchom & Prasun Modi - 2nd place finish in Write It/Do It. Mrs. Bajorek and Mrs. Longdin are incredibly proud of each and every one of our team members.  Remember, our season celebration will be Thursday, after school, until the late buses arrive.  Please bring a beverage.  We will look over scores, celebrate our season, and get an organized team picture!  See you there!

  • The literary magazine Out of the Blue will meet after school today March 27 in room 222.  We look forward to seeing you there! Again out of the blue will meet today in room 222.

  • Mrs. Bajorek and Mrs. Longdin would like to extend a hearty congratulations to this year's Science Olympiad teams!  This past Saturday, 29 TEMS students boarded the bus at 6:45 am to travel to Coventry to compete in three types of event skills; study skills, lab skills, and build events.  Between the two teams, students medaled in 16 events.  This is an amazing accomplishment for teams made 100% of new members.  We are so very proud of each and every one of you.  The Purple team placed third, overall, in the state!  Excellent job.  As the week continues, we will share the names of each and every medal winner.  Keep watching.Science Olympiad members - there is NO practice today.  We will have a celebration on Thursday after school until the late busses arrive.  Bring your own beverage.  We will provide some snacks, awards, event outcomes, and a space to celebrate your accomplishments!  See you Thursday!
  • The Spring Fling dance is this Friday from 6-8.  This is our first whole school dance and should not disappoint.  There will be dancing, food, photo opportunities, and more!  Tickets went on sale today.  If you did not get your ticket today, they are available the rest of the week.

  • Hello, Students and teachers!  Are you interested for your work to be featured in Out of the Blue magazine? You can submit poems, short stories, artwork, memoirs and more! Please submit your submissions to  Ms.Olsen’s room 222, share it with her on Google, or you can send it to her by email! Make sure that you have your name on your submission! We don’t want you to  miss out!  Please submit it ASAP! Submissions are due April 17tth! We are excited to see your awesome submissions!!
  • Attention athletes trying out for track and field...tryouts will begin starting the week of April 3rd. 8th graders, both boys and girls, will try out on Monday, April 3rd from 2:45 to 4:30. 7th graders, both boys, and girls, will try out on Tuesday, April 4th, and 6th graders will try out on Wednesday, April 5th.  All athletes trying out should dress after school  and meet coaches in the big gym.  Remember, you will not be able to try out if you have not registered on the parent portal or have not turned in an updated physician statement to the main office.  Please visit the TEMS spring sports website for more details or see Mr. Millard or Mrs. Edwards.
  • Spring Fling ticket sales begin on Monday! Throw out your coats and sweatshirts, as you dress in your favorite spring outfits!  There will be food, music, photos, and more. Remember to bring money for snacks and other items!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Wednesday, March 22.
  • Attention all 6, 7th and 8th graders, we are giving you the opportunity to submit to the literary magazine, Out of the Blue! The things you can submit are artwork, short stories, poetry, photography and comic strips. The due date is April 17th. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, see Ms. Olsen in room 222. We can’t wait to see what you’ve created.
  • Congratulations to the TEMS Red, White, Blue and Gold Mock Trial teams for a history making night at the Civics First Middle School Mock Trial Regional Competition, held at King Philip Middle School in West Hartford last evening. All four TEMS posted perfect records for a combined 8 wins and ZERO losses!! This amazing effort allows all four TEMS teams to advance to the State Playoffs where they will compete for the state championship. Congratulations and Good Luck in the playoffs.

  • Attention anyone interested in the TEMS track and field team.  Track and field tryouts are right around the corner, starting the week of April 3rd.  More specific tryout details will come out next week.  If you have any questions, please come see Mr. Millard and Mrs. Edwards.
  • The Spring Fling dance is only weeks away!  The dance is a whole school dance open to the first 380 people to register.  Tickets go on sale on March 27th.  You must sign-up with the google form before purchasing your tickets. 
  • Thank you to everyone for continuing to vote in the 2023 March Madness Book Bracket. Voting for Round 3 is open through Thursday, March 23rd at noon.   • ALL Science Olympiad participants, we will begin today's practice in Mrs. Bajorek's room to share important competition information.  After that, we can separate into build and study events.  This week's practice schedule is as follows: 
    • Monday - after school until 5:00pm
    • Wednesday - after school until 5:00pm
    • Thursday - after school until 4:00pm (or the late busses arrive)
    • Friday - after school until we are done!
