  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, June 12.
  • Good morning Timothy Edwards Middle School. I am Annaliese LeRoy and here is today’s final  Monday weather report. For today, cloudy skies are expected throughout the entire day with temperatures ranging from 63 to 73 degrees. Around the time we all go out to wait for our buses, temperatures will be around 65 and by the time we all load onto our buses in the afternoon, temperatures will be around 72. Today’s high of 73 will be reached between 11am and 2pm. There will be winds reaching up to 13 miles per hour and no precipitation. I am Annaliese LeRoy and that is today’s weather report.   • Thank you to everyone who came out to international family night last night! Here are the winners of the raffle. Please go to the office at some point today to get your prize from Ms. Roberts: Ian Doyle, Arnav Malpure, Braeden Lim, Kenza Hassoubi, Aiden Platt, Ridhi Umasuden, Olatanlda Zurduir, Disha Gottam, Brady XU, Emma Boothroye, Sophie Donnelly, Keshav P., Hannah Samuelb and Aarshan Parida.
  • Congratulations to the 6th grade girl’s lacrosse team for winning the CVYL Girls A2 Championship 7-5 over Tolland.  Congratulations to Sarah Bonanno, Kinley Cincotta, Sonia Girouard, Joanna Halle, Kendal Heath, Amelia Magnoli, Teagan Minguy, Ava Powell, Vanessa Primavera, Ella Satalino, and Tori Yelle.

  •  If you are looking to improve your speed and agility, you should sign up for the speed, agility, and quickness camp this summer.  Information can be found in the main gym or you can sign up through the recreation department.

  •  This summer take your soccer game to a whole new level.  Join TEMS Coaches Brian Chandler and Gary Swierczynski for a fun-filled week of soccer taught the right way.  Each day will present new experiences for the beginner and new challenges for the skilled veteran.  The goal is to learn skills, meet some new friends and of course, have fun.  The dates of the camp are July 17th through July 21st from 9:00am to 12pm.  Please visit the South Windsor Recreation Department website and search for Cougar Soccer Camp.  Please see Mr. Chandler or Mr. S for more information.  Flyers are also available in the boys and girls locker room. 

  • Today is the last day to submit artwork for the Pride Art Contest. All work must be submitted through the online form, which can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the art contest flier. If you have physical artwork to hand in, drop it off with Miss Carver in room 145. All artwork must be submitted by tonight to be considered for adjudication. Art contest results will be announced on Wednesday morning.

  • Good morning Timothy Edwards Middle School. I am Annaliese LeRoy and here is today’s final Friday and weekend weather report. For today, cloudy skies are expected throughout the entire day with temperatures ranging from 49 to 67 degrees. The day will start in high 40’s and as the day goes on temperatures will rise up to the high of 67 degrees between 1 and 2pm. For most of the school day, it will stay in between the mid 50’s and mid 60’s. There will be winds reaching up to 5 miles per hour and light rain between 10am and 2pm and around 8pm and scattered thunderstorms from 3pm to 7pm. Tomorrow, partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day with temperatures ranging from 50 to 74 degrees. On Sunday, partly cloudy skies are expected again, with temperatures ranging from 52 to 81 degrees. The day will start in mid 50’s and as the day goes on temperatures will rise up to the high of 81 degrees between 2 and 4pm. I am Annaliese LeRoy and that is today’s weather report.   • The SAGA Pride Art contest deadline has been extended to Monday (June 12th). This is your final chance to submit artwork for the contest. Please be sure to scan the QR code found on the art contest flier to submit your work and information. If you have artwork to drop off, please bring it to Miss Carver in room 145.   • Good morning Timothy Edwards Middle School. I am Mr. Goric and here is today’s weather report. For today, partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the entire day with temperatures ranging from 51 to 67 degrees. The day will start in the low 50’s and as the day goes on temperatures will rise up to the high of 67 degrees around 4pm. For most of the school day, it will stay in between the high 50’s and mid 60’s. There will be winds reaching up to 6 miles per hour and no precipitation. Due to Canadian wildfire smoke getting caught in our jet stream, our air quality has been reaching severe and hazardous level’s with today’s air quality being unhealthy for sensitive groups. This includes people with asthma and other lung problems. The current air quality is ___ and these high air qualities have an unknown period of time that they will be in our area. I am Mr. Goric and that is today’s weather report. And now for more announcements.
  • Tomorrow is Homeroom spirit Day. Don't forget to make a plan together with your homeroom, as the best homeroom spirit will win a pizza party! Happy spirit week! Cant wait to see what you all come up with for tomorrow!
  • International Night is tonight from 6-8pm.  We hope to see everyone there for a night of performances, crafts, henna, and food samples from Mexican, Lebanese, Indian restaurants and more!  Attention all student volunteers!  Please check your emails today for information from Mrs. Shattuck and return your permission slips to room 363 or 211.  Again, students signed up to volunteer for international night, check your email today and see Mrs. Shattuck with any questions.

Just a friendly reminder that all TE Library books were due back on Monday June 5th.  If you are unable to find a library item you checked out, please come and see Mrs. Longo as soon as you can. Current 6th and 7th graders can check out books over the summer with a signed permission slip on Wednesday June 7th through Friday June 9th.  You can print the permission slip off of the main LMC page or come and see Mrs. Longo in the LMC to grab one. Don’t forget that you have access to our library’s virtual collection- Destiny Discover, 24/7.  This is a great way to get some reading in over the summer, especially if a parent or guardian isn’t able to take you to the public library.  Directions for checking out TE’s e-Books and e-audios can be found off of the LMC page under “How to Videos,” and then, “How to Check Out Digital Content from TE's Virtual Library.”  If you own a tablet or smart phone, you can download the Destiny Discover App so you can read or listen to our virtual content on the go.  Directions for doing so can also be found on the main LMC page under, “Instructions for Downloading and Using the Destiny Discover App.” Please see me if you have any problems logging into Destiny Discover with your network username and password. We are looking for students who are interested in volunteering to help run International Night.  This would include doing set up, decorating, or volunteering at a booth doing henna, face painting, origami, etc.  To sign up, or share other ideas of how you could help, please fill out the Google Form posted in your Homeroom Google Classroom ASAP.  See Mr. Ruiz in room 211 or Mrs. Shattuck in 363 with questions.

  • Attention 8th graders who are interested in playing a fall sport at South Windsor High School next year...the fall coaches will be coming to TEMS on Monday, June 5th from 2:45 to 4pm.  You will have an opportunity to meet your coach and will receive information about being an athlete at the high school level.  It is recommended that you attend the meeting so you can learn about the tryout process and everything else specific to your sport.  Sport teams coming will be football, girls soccer, boys soccer, field hockey, dance, cheerleading, boys and girls cross country and girls volleyball.  Please sign up to attend the meeting.  Sign up sheets are located in the main gym.

  • Good morning Timothy Edwards Middle School. I am Annaliese LeRoy and here is today’s weather report. For today, sunny skies are expected throughout the entire day with temperatures ranging from 44 to 81 degrees. The day will start in the low 40’s and as the day goes on temperatures will rise up to the high of 81 degrees around 4pm. For most of the school day, it will stay in between the low 50’s and the high 70’s. There will be winds reaching up to 10 miles per hour and no precipitation.   • Thank you to everyone who stopped by the table in the lobby and made a donation to support seventh grade student, Rachel Mathew who qualified to compete at the 2023 National History Day competition at the University of Maryland. If you did not stop by today, tomorrow is your last day to stop by before homeroom and make a donation to help Rachel and her family travel to and from National History Day in Maryland. Everyone who makes a donation will receive a sticker, a magnet or keychain as a thank you. Please come out and support Rachel as she represents Timothy Edwards at National History Day. THANK YOU!!
  • Over Memorial Day weekend, a select group from the boys track and field team competed at the annual CT Middle School State Track and Field Championship at Manchester High.  The boys finished 6th overall as a team out of 38 teams.  Luca Corticelli took 6th place in the 55 meter hurdles.  Luis Lopez Casimir earned 7th in the 100 meter dash.  The 4x800 team of James Swett, Erik Edstrom, Colton Flaherty, and Jeff Zeng took 6th place.  The 4x100 team of Mathias Baidoo, Jamar Nickson, Avaneesh Savkar, and Luis Lopez Casimir took 3rd place in the state.  Mathias also took 3rd place in the Long Jump.  Colton Flaherty shaved off 7 seconds from his 800 time.  Other boys also set personal bests on the day.  The boys finished off a fantastic season.  Go Cougars!
  • Attention 8th graders who are interested in playing a fall sport at South Windsor High School next year...the fall coaches will be coming to TEMS on Monday, June 5th from 2:45 to 4pm.  You will have an opportunity to meet your coach and will receive information about being an athlete at the high school level.  It is recommended that you attend the meeting so you can learn about the tryout process and everything else specific to your sport.  Sport teams coming will be football, girls soccer, boys soccer, field hockey, dance and girls volleyball.
  • Are you ready to celebrate the end of the school year? Student council is organizing a spirit week running June 5 - 9 to get excited for the last few days of school! Make sure you dress up to show your spirit! Monday is Career day. Dress like your future career! Tuesday is celebrity look-alike day. Whether it is a singer, athlete, actor, or character from a TV-show or movie, dress like your favorite celebrity, or one you think you look like! Wednesday is student and teacher swap day. Students, dress like your teachers. Teachers, dress like your students! Thursday is color wars. Show your team spirit by wearing your team's colors! Friday is homeroom wars. During homeroom on Monday-Thursday, pick a theme for your homeroom and dress as the theme on Friday! The homeroom with the most creative theme and the most participants wins a pizza party!
  • If you are looking to improve your speed and agility, you should sign up for the speed, agility, and quickness camp this summer.  Information can be found in the main gym or you can sign up through the recreation department.
  • This summer take your soccer game to a whole new level.  Join TEMS Coaches Brian Chandler and Gary Swierczynski for a fun-filled week of soccer taught the right way.  Each day will present new experiences for the beginner and new challenges for the skilled veteran.  The goal is to learn skills, meet some new friends and of course, have fun.  The dates of the camp are July 17th through July 21st from 9:00am to 12pm.  Please visit the South Windsor Recreation Department website and search for Cougar Soccer Camp.  Please see Mr. Chandler or Mr. S for more information.  Flyers are also available in the boys and girls locker room.

  • Good morning Timothy Edwards Middle School. I am Annaliese LeRoy and here is today’s weather report. For today, sunny skies are expected throughout the entire day with temperatures ranging from 43 to 75 degrees. The day will start in the low and mid 40’s and as the day goes on temperatures will rise up to the high of 75 degrees between 4 and 5pm. For most of the school day, it will stay in between the low 50’s and the low 70’s. There will be winds reaching up to 8 miles per hour and no precipitation. I am Annaliese LeRoy and that is today’s weather report. And now for more announcements from Olivia.
  • This weekend, the TE Girl's Track Team went to the State Meet. Natalie Czop and Morgan Brideforth took 8th and 13th place in the 100 Meter Dash out of 83 girls and 6th and 13th out of 87 girls in the 200!  6th grader Kinsley Wood took 9th place in the 400-meter run with Annabel Ambooken and Jana Brownbill close behind.  Abigail Ambooken, Greta Johnson, and Kiran Thaker dominated the 800-meter run.  Rachel Matyschsyk shaved off 20 seconds in the 1600 meter, running the mile in 6 minutes and 5 seconds!  Sadhana Ganesan came in 3rd place overall in the 55 m hurlers.  Zoe Bailey took 6th place in the shot put.   The girl's team took 14th out of 62 overall teams.  Great job ladies!!
