  • Good morning everyone, please stand for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated.
  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, October 13.
  • And now for Walk A Thon News...As of today we have raised a total of $12,305 which is 49.22% of our school goal. We are halfway there and need your help to finish strong. 8th grade really made a leap this week and is closing the gap between the grades. 6th grade is still in the lead raising $4850, 7th grade in second with $3975, and 8th grade is closing in with $3480. 8th grade has never won before. If the 8th graders could pull this off they'd be the first in history!  Let's all work together to spread the word this weekend and bring in those donations for our school!
  • The girls soccer team faced Illing last night and walked away with yet another win. The final score of the game was 4-0. The Lady Cougars dominated the first half. Early in the first half, Kinsley Wood passed the ball to striker Emily Ward who fired one in the back of the net. The half ended 2-0. In the second half, Sienna DiSalvatore crossed the ball in and  8th grader Shea Brochu had a beautiful header that landed in the back of the net. We didn't stop there. Aleksa Zajac fought hard to beat the defense and ended up with a breakaway and placed one in the back of the net. Coach B and Coach Sayed were very impressed. The girls team hosts Sage Park on Tuesday.
  • The TEMS Boys soccer team hosted Illing last night and secured the victory 4-0.  Yet another shutout for the defense and the goalkeeper, Aniron Pal.  The Cougars were dominant the entire game, but could only muster one goal in the first half.  Haris Zhinipotoku served a ball into the box and after it bounded around in the mixer, AJ Bryson pounced and pushed it across the line for the 1-0 lead.  Coach Chandler rallied the troops in the second and the Cougars scoring continued.  Garren Kerachsky did just enough to get his effort over the end line.  Their keeper made a diving save to keep it out, but the referee gave it a goal in the end.  Matteo Heredia pulled a Lloyd Christmas and "totally redeemed himself" getting on the end of a Aaron Cherian cross to make it 3-0.  Finally, Doug Quiuqui was past his marker on the wing and crossed a gem of a pass to Zayd Sebro, who calmly walked around two defenders and buried his shot to the back post rounding out the scoring.  The Cougars are off till next Tuesday when they travel to Windsor to play the Sage Park Chargers.
  • The TE field hockey team came away with a great win against JFK of Enfield by a score of 3-0. TE came out strong with a quick goal by the speedy Tori Yelle. Yelle would score 2 more times for her first hattrick of her career.  Captains Emily, Emma, Prithi, and Molly played the entire game and never looked back.  Prithi and Emily dominated the midfield while Emma and Molly held JFK's offense to only 3 shots on goal. Coach Ainslee Deptula motivated the team to its 3rd win.  Vanessa "Pasta" Primavera showed tremendous determination and aggressive play on the right side of the field.  In the second game TE came away with a 2-0 loss.  Playing well for the Cougars was Reagan Burnham, Ipshita Singh, Anika Bansal, Anisha Prakash and Diya Arvind.  TE's next game is Monday is away in Granby.

  • The boys cross country team lost to Illing Middle School on Tuesday 23 - 36. The team let the first and second spots slip away to Illing Middle, while TE took third, fourth, and sixth. Illing's strength continued in the middle of the pack.  While TE would take the 11th, 14th, and 15th spots, it wasn't enough to get the WIN. Despite the loss, Dhruv Chakraborty, Sam Franklin, and Braeden Lim all had strong races. The boys are back home next Tuesday. Good luck! Go Cougars!
  • The girls soccer team beat Ellington Middle School 2-0 yesterday afternoon. The Lady Cougars continue to be undefeated. The first goal was scored my Aleksa Zajac late in the first half. The ball was crossed to the top of the box, she took one touch and nutmegged the goalie. Ellington was fired up after the first goal and the ball was buzzing around the field. But, that didn't stop Madison Carpenter who fought hard to score the second goal for the lady Cougars. The girls next game is against Illing Middle School on Thursday
  • The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team battled Ellington to a 0–0 tie last night. The game was played on a Postage stamp of a field, and the ball was back-and-forth the entire match. Aniron Pal held the Wildcats scoreless with a solid back line in front of him in Dalton Crane, Dave Nice, and Logan Jackson. The Cougars controlled much of the match but couldn’t find a way past the Wildcat defense. The Cougars host Illing on a Thursday after school.

  • Hey everyone, ever want to slime someone. Well we have a chance to slime Officer Owens if we raise enough money in the Walkathon. We are off to a great start raising over $6500, but need to work together to raise $30,000 so we can see Officer Owens covered in Red, Blue, and Green. Share your Walkathon information with family and friends over this long weekend. The students who raise the most money from each grade will get the honor of pouring the slime.
  • The field hockey team rebounded from their loss against JFK with a big 4-1 win over Mabel Avery Middle School of Somers. Scoring first for the Cougars was Lilah Boldic with an assist from Joanna Halle. Joanna then scored the second and third goal of the game with an assist from Ainslee Deptula. Ainslee then scored the fourth goal. Emma Davis worked hard as the lone defender helping Meg Aparo in goal to hold Somers to one goal. Allie Scott took a break from playing goalie to do a great job controlling the midfield. Shout out to Diya Arvind, Evie Beaulieu, Sarah Bonanno and Sahashra Natti for great teamwork throughout the game. The Cougars play again next Thursday against JFK at home. Come on out to support the team!!

  • Last night in Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to East Hartford to take on the Falcons, in yet another CRAL battle. It was a highly contested affair, with several fouls occurring in the first half. The Cougars came away with a 1-0 halftime lead after Mateo Heredia scored on a nice through ball from Zayd Sebro. Coach’s halftime talk inspired the players as they came out to outcompete their immediate opponents. Their persistence and hard work paid off as Aaron Cherian played the ball across the box to Heredia for his second goal of the game. Heredia became the provider for the third goal as he headed a ball toward Garren Kerachsky for the final tally of the game. “The Cougars 3–0 win was well-deserved” Coach Chandler said. Up Next for the boys is a game on Tuesday against Ellington of next week.
  • The TE girls soccer team faced East Hartford yesterday. The scorching heat didn't stop the Lady Cougars from beating East Hartford 9-0. The goals were scored by Journey, Julia Ayotte, Maddie Carpenter, Liston and more. Goal keeper Victoria Mackie helped the Cougars keep a clean sheet with an outstanding performance. The Cougars will face a tough competition on Tuesday at home against Ellington.
  • The field hockey team had a tough loss against JFK of Enfield by a score of 3-1.  Tori Yelle hit a rocket shot in the corner of the goal from an assist by Ainslee Deptula to tie the game one to one.  TE couldnt come up with another goal but goalies Allie Scott and Megan Aparo did an amazing job in the blaring sun stopping the JFK attack.   Kendal Heath, Molly Willard, Maggie Melia, and Sahasra Natti did a great job defending in the circle.  Prithi Suriyakumarr, Emily Carmon, Vanessa Primavera, controlled the midfield while Joanna Halle, Lilah Bulduc, and Kylie Duval had to work hard battling the sun to get shots off on goal. In the second game TE came away with a 0-0 tie playing more experienced players.  Stella Swierbutowicz, Reagan Burnham, Ella "Bug" Allore and Tatum Cote did a great job pushing the ball up the field with tenacity and speed.  Abby Roth, Ellie Kozikowski, Natalie Goodrich, Ipshita Singh did a fantastic job in their very first TE field hockey game.  Great job Girls! TE plays  against Somers today at home.  Hope to see you there.

  • Attention all field hockey team members: today's practice is canceled due to the weather. Please go on your regular transportation home. Again there will be no field hockey practice today.
  • And now for Girls Soccer news. Ellington put up a strong fight against the Cougars last night. Early in the first half Aleksa Zajac passed a through ball to Kinsley Wood who fired one in the back of the net. That half ended with the lady Cougars up 1 and Ellington 0. Tensions were high in the second half, the Cougars had multiple shots on net, but were unfortunately unable to finish. The game ended 1-0. The lady Cougars continue to be undefeated. We have our next game on Tuesday against Sage Park.
  • The TE Cougars Boys Soccer team played a favorable host last night as the Ellington Wildcats came to town for a top of the table contest.  "The first half was a thing of beauty," Coach Chandler said.  We were firing on all cylinders," he added.  It was just as coach said.  Ellington entered the Cougars penalty area only once in the first half and TE had the lions share of possession for most of the frame.  Aaron Cheriha was flying down the touch-line time and time again.  The midfield play of Matteo Heredia, Zayd Sebro, Carson Henriques along with AJ and RJ was something to be seen.  The Cougars were disappointed not to be up at the break, however.  The second half was not as pleasant as the first...though TE still had more of the ball.  The Wildcats stuck first to take a 1-0 lead.  About 15 minutes later, the Cougars responded as Dalton Crane floated a ball into the penalty area where Doug Quiuqui was lurking.  He buried his chance as the score was now tied 1-1.  Neither team really had another chance to change the result, and the final score of 1-1 was justified, though disappointing for the Cougars. The Cougars next game is Tuesday when we play Sage Park here after school.
