  • The field hockey team rebounded from their loss yesterday with a 2-0 win over Somers. Kaliegh Aparo scored TEs first goal off of a pass from Abby Stricker followed by another quick unassisted shot to find the back of the boards from speedy Jelly Yelle. Steady play from Vanessa Liegl on the forward line and Emily Carmen, Ainslee Deptula, Avery Brochu in the Midfield. While  Taylor Zanelli, Prithi Sahaasraprithi, Kendall Woods excelled in the backfield. TE travels to Enfield on Monday.
  • The lady Cougars soccer team kicked off their last home vs. Tolland yesterday evening in a 2-2 draw. Tolland struck first finding the back of the net, but the Cougars were able to tie up score before half, as a brilliant cross from Mia Ruiz found the foot of Maeve Verzella who passed back to Ari Rosario for an easy finish. Throughout the end of the first, Gabby DiSalvatore, Arianna Flores, Evelyn Castro and Jenna Martin were strong in a back denying a handful of chances from Tolland. Outstanding midfield effort was had from Hailey Olints, Amanda Marques, and Teagan Purcell. In the second half, Tolland took the lead again only to be followed up from a brilliant corner kick in the final 2 minutes by Kylah Wood which was poked in over the goalie from Abby Ambooken. All around the team was resilient and dominated the game with their passing and creative runs. Finally, Hannah Kowalichik was strong between the posts tallying 9 saves on the day which was vital for the team in securing the draw. The Cougars face JFK this afternoon in their final game of the season.
