  • Out of the Blue hopes you had a fantastic Spring Break.  We are working diligently on this year's issue.  Club members, please be reminded that there is NO meeting today.  You should go home on your regular bus.
  • Attention Cougar Robotics Participants. Our end of the season party and disassembly will take place today afterschool. Please bring a treat or snack to share. We will watch back some of the matches, take apart our creations, and enjoy some time celebrating our work this season. Any questions please contact your team coach.
  • Auditions for TETV News Anchors will be held this Wednesday, April 17th, afterschool. Interested students will audition by reading through a daily news script off of a teleprompter. Any questions please see Mr. Goric for more information.
  • Attention 6th Graders trying out for Track and Field. 6th grade tryouts will be held today after school. Please reach out to Mr. Millard or Mrs. Edwards with any questions.
  • It’s that time of year again- time to take part in helping choose the 2024 Intermediate and Middle School Nutmeg Book Award winners.  The Nutmeg Book Award is chosen by students in grades 4 to 8 throughout the state and represents our state book award. You must have read at least one or more of the current Nutmeg nominees in either category to be eligible to vote AND can only vote once per category. Voting will start on Wednesday, April 3rd  and end on Friday, April 26th. Cast your vote online by visiting the main LMC page; make sure you have a say in this year’s Nutmeg Book Award Winner!   • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, April 1.
  • Attention all band members, instrumental lessons for today are canceled.  Please remain in your regular encore class. Also, all band members must remember to bring their Chromebook with them to band class today. 
  • Are you a 7th grader who would like to join a fun, new group during WIN period? Join Mrs. Reed and Ms. Mills for “Mood Boosters”! Each week we will discuss a different topic and then play a game or do a related activity. Some included topics will be how to manage stress, how to have a growth mindset and how to elevate your mood! Garnet and Crimson teams will meet on Thursdays and Ruby and Scarlet teams will meet on Fridays during WIN. If you are interested, sign up THIS WEEK in the Guidance Office. Spots are limited, so don’t wait!
  • The Cougar Robotics Team held their championship event on Saturday hosting over 50 TEMS students competing head to head. The morning was comprised of seating matches, which lead to a single elimination tournament in the afternoon. Congratulations to all students involved. The RoboRevolution team ending up claiming victory over the other eight teams and ended as our grand champions. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our event, and to all the spectators who came out. 
  • A reminder to members of Out of the Blue that we will meet after school today.  Please make sure that you bring your submission if you have not turned it in yet.  And to all members of our TE family, all submissions are due by Monday April 15, only two weeks from today!  That's no April Fool's Joke!  So please submit your poems, short stories, drawings, paintings, and photos.  Thank you to everyone who has already submitted.  We especially need more poems this year and we know how talented you all are!  You can even submit something you wrote for a class.  Please share it with Ms. Olsen and then you can say you are part of a nationally award winning magazine!
  • Are you interested in improving your overall fitness?  Or want to get just a little stronger or faster or maybe hang out with friends while being active.  If so, join Mr. Chandler after school for Fitness Club, starting April 17th.  The program runs every Wednesday and Thursday through May 23rd, and they are on late bus days too.  Registration is through the South Windsor Rec Department and you can start registering on April 3rd.  Don't miss out as this program fills up quickly.  Only 30 students will be able to participate.  Additional information can be found on the tables in the boys and girls locker rooms.  Any questions, please see Mr. Chandler in the main gym.

  • You can still earn ROAR tickets all week long by demonstrating Respect, Ownership, Acceptance, and Resilience. To enter to win prizes, put your first and last name and team on the ticket and place tickets in the box next to the safety desk. Our final drawing will be held this Thursday!
  • We are back with Women’s History Month celebrations. Today we will highlight the amazing accomplishments of Deborah Sampson. Here is a quick video that details her contributions to our nation through the Revolutionary War. All month we will feature highlights of Women who made an impact in society.
  • Attention baseball players...tryouts for grades 6th and 7th only will take place tomorrow, March 26th and Wednesday, March 27th from 2:45 to 4:30. 8th Graders Only will tryout next week on Monday, April 1st and Wednesday, April 3rd from 2:45 to 4:30. Get ready to: Bust a move on the dance floor! Challenge your friends to awesome games! Chill out with friends at the movies! Rock some cool face paint, henna and temporary tattoos! Space is limited, so grab your ticket during your lunch waves! We even have V.I.P sections for those very important peeps!! Click the link in your Google Classroom to reserve your ticket today! Don't forget to bring your friends, a big smile, and a heart ready for some serious fun supporting a great cause!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, March 11.
  • Saturday was an exciting day for the TE MathCounts team as they competed in the State tournament.  The team of Girish Prasad, Gian Handa, Aarav Pruthi and Henry Venne calculated their way to victory, beating out all other teams statewide!   Girish (the G.O.A.T.) qualified to move on to the National Competition. This is the second time that TE has won the state title.  Girish is the first person in TE history to qualify for Nationals, not once, but twice! Congratulations to Girish, Gian, Aarav, Henry and Ishan Agarwal on their incredible achievements.  
  • 7th and 8th graders you will have the opportunity to join Ms. Mills being part of the Expressions Group. If you have something you would like to share, please have a parent or guardian fill out the Google form on TEMS website to RSVP for a booth! Interested in seeing the displays but not having a booth? You can also RSVP with the same Google form to come see the booths and performance at international night!

  • Hello, Cougars! We are now announcing the animals advancing to the next round, which is the FINALS!!!! Aladdin might have his "magic lamp", but Panini beat him! Go, Panini! Do it for the dogs! And the sandwiches! Finn goes for the win!!! Hooray, oops, I did something wrong. BOOTZ kicked Finn down with his powerful boots! Man, I want a pair of boots too! Congratulations to our finalists, Bootz and Panini! Congrats to EVERY ANIMAL who advanced to the semi finals! That sure is far! Let's see which animal wins and takes the prize of the "Honorary Animal" certificate and a bunch of tennis balls! Vote in the finals NOW! The Honorary Animal of Animal Lovers Winter Matinee will be disclosed...tomorrow! Stay tuned!
  • Attention Science Olympiad members with competition fast approaching, please plan to attend the following meeting times this week to prepare for our upcoming competition on March 16th. This week Wednesday and Thursday after school until 4pm and Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week.
  • Calling All Middle Schoolers! Spring Matinee registration starts Monday, March 4th at 9 AM! Ready to unleash your creativity, explore new interests, and have some fun after school? Check out the Spring Matinee Brochure on the TEMS Homepage to discover a variety of exciting activities you can't miss! Registration begins today at 9:00 AM! The registration link will be posted on the TEMS Homepage. Registration must be done by a parent/guardian. One course per student.
  • It’s time to start casting your votes to determine the 2024 March Madness Book Brackets Winner! Check out and vote on the 8 book match-ups on the LMC page under the March Madness Book Bracket link. You don’t have to have read the books you are voting on; just vote for the title whose summary sounds the most interesting. The first round of voting will end on Friday, March 8Th at noon. Don’t get left out on the sidelines; make sure you have your say in this year’s March Madness book winner!
  • On Saturday, TE students joined students from dozens of the other Connecticut schools at the 2024 Mansfield Regional History Day Contest at UCONN. Today we will highlight medalists in the Junior Individual Website Category and the Junior Individual Paper Category. In the individual Website category, Kaelyn Bates took home a 4th place medal, Aarna Jaggi received a 2nd place medal and Aaron Aldrin took home the gold with his 1st Place medal. In the Research Paper category, Oliver Hennessey received the 4th place medal, Rachel Mathew won a 3rd place medal and THE Emma Hennessey topped all other entries walking away with the 1st place gold medal. Come back tomorrow when even more History Day winners are announced!
  • Congrats to our TEMS Cheerleaders on their first-place finish this weekend at the Middle School Mania competition!  The team scored so high that they beat many local high school teams in recent competitions, scoring 72 points out of 100!  This is the highest score that TEMS has had in many years!  The girls received outstanding ability scores in their stunts, pyramid, dance, technique, and tumbling, with a personal shoutout from a judge to 8th grade Zoe Bailey, the only cheerleader at the competition who threw a full.  They were above average with motions and jumps.  Way to represent TEMS.  Great job, ladies!

  • Tickets for Entertainer's production of "Finding Nemo, Junior" are now on sale every morning in the lobby by the cafeteria and library. Don't miss out on this underwater adventure brought to life on stage! Tickets are $10 for both students and adults, but we have special pricing available: $5 for individuals aged 65 and older and children 5 and under. Be sure to show your support for our talented TEMS students who are involved in the production, whether they're shining on stage or working behind the scenes to make magic happen! If you're a fan of the beloved movie "Finding Nemo," you're in for a treat with the musical version featuring all your favorite characters! While tickets will be available at the door on the night of performances, we encourage you not to wait, as we anticipate a high demand and possible sell-outs! Mark your calendars for the show dates: Thursday, March 7th; Friday, March 8th; and Saturday, March 9th at 7 pm, with an additional matinee performance on Saturday the 9th at 1 pm.   • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, February 12.
  • Saturday was another great day for the Timothy Edwards Debate Club! The team of Chiamaka Chidiadi, Prasheeta Mohanty and Aarav Pruthi became the first ever team from Timothy Edwards to be named Connecticut Debate League's Tournament Champions! The team won all three Preliminary Rounds before outpointing their opponents in the finals. Congratulations Team! Individually, Prasheeta and Aarav placed 7th and 8th respectively as top 10 debate speakers. In the NOVICE Division, two TEMS teams finished the tournament with perfect 3-0 records. In second place the team of Akshara Labhe, Sahasra Natti and Tanisha Lakshmann bested more than 50 other Novice teams. AND, with an equally impressive performance the team of Aarna Jaggi, Aarohi Mudakatte and  Harshitha Prasanna finished in 3rd place. A number of TEMS NOVICE debaters also were noted for their outstanding performances. Leading the way was Jayden Chen in 2nd place, followed by Akshara Labhe in 5th place and Aarna Jaggi in 10th place. Next up for TEMS Debaters is the OPEN Invitational on April 6th and the Connecticut Democracy Center's Great Debate on April 24th.
  • Did you catch it last night… an ad during the Super Bowl featured our very own Dash Hayes!! If you look closely you can also spot some other TE students as well as our TE Gym. Here is a look at the Ad. (Play Video)
  • Friday night the courts came alive at the Cougar-Thon Volleyball tournament. Fun was had by all as teams played 6 games in the round robin tournament. In the end the student team of WE BALL ELITE came out on top of the student division and faced the TE Teachers in the final match. The TE Teacher team did not disappoint and ended up winning the night. Thank you to all students and staff who came out and supported the Connecticut Children's Medical Center while having a fun night! Together we can make the world a better place.
  • February 15th is Random Acts of Kindness Day! It's a day dedicated to spreading joy and positivity throughout our school community and beyond. One way you could participate is to give Compliments: Take a moment to give genuine compliments to your classmates, teachers, or even strangers. It could be about their outfit, their work, or simply their kindness. Let's make February 15th a day to remember by spreading kindness everywhere we go! Remember, even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. Together, we can create a culture of kindness in our school. Have a wonderful day, and let's spread some kindness!
  • Ever dream of leading the way, solving problems like a pro, and making your school (or even the world!) a better place? Then this Explorations in Leadership Workshop is your chance to shine! Join South Windsor High School FBLA students as we build confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills that impress everyone and get a sneak peek into what being a leader is all about!! Come on out Feb 14th after school in Mr. Smith-Horn’s Room number 382.

  • Any 8th grader interested in auditioning for the South Windsor High School show choir, Choral Spectrum, should join the audition Google Classroom using class code 2b7zjtr. See Mrs. Gasta in room 141 with any questions.
  • Attention all students and staff, the student council will be hosting their annual carnation sale starting today. Carnations will be sold during all lunch waves for $2. Send a carnation to your friend, your crush, your favorite teacher, or even a family member. You seriously do not want to miss out on the opportunity to buy a carnation! Get your carnations NOW! They will be passed out on Valentine's Day! 
  • In teen center news… Volunteer Hours  are available at the Teen Center. They are looking for volunteers on Feb 6, 13, 14, 16, and March 7th. Stop by and sign up. The Teen Center is also looking for unopened mascara, lipstick, eye shadow and new men’s dress socks. These will be donated to anyone in need for Prom Season.   We are also working with The Cornerstone Clothing Bank in Rockville where they will provide dress, jewelry, shoes and suits. Donations can be dropped off at the Teen Center. Also the Teen Center will be closed on Feb 15th for a trip to The Bushnell to see Frozen.

  • Attention all students and staff, the student council will be hosting their annual carnation sale starting today. Carnations will be sold during all lunch waves for $2. Send a carnation to your friend, your crush, your favorite teacher, or even a family member. You seriously do not want to miss out on the opportunity to buy a carnation! Get your carnations NOW! They will be passed out on Valentine's Day!.
  • Get ready for some competitive fun, Cougars! Friday, February 9th, CougarTHON is hosting a TEMS Volleyball Tournament! Teams of 7 to 10 players are invited to sign up for this amazing night of volleyball, face painting, enter-to-win opportunities, and more! To get a sign up packet, go to Mrs. Klosowski’s classroom, 232, in the Emerald hallway or go on the TEMS website to register online! A teacher team is also forming. Interested staff members please reach out to Mrs. Morelli to sign up. Sign up packets and registration fees are due by Tuesday, February 6th.
  • Do you love animals? Do you have pet supplies you are willing to donate? Then be sure to give things to the fundraiser hosted by The Animal Lovers Matinee! Ms. Bynoe and the Animal Lover kids will be doing a fundraiser for "Our Companions Animal Rescue". We want all types of pet supplies, including treats, toys, pillowcases, etc. Bring all supplies to Ms. Bynoe's room (Room 235). Thank you for all your support, and be sure to donate anything you can! No money is required, only pet supplies (especially for cats and dogs).

  • TEEN CENTER is offering a field trip to  the Bushnell Theater to see FROZEN. The cost is $15.00 per students. We will meet at the teen center at 5:30 for Pizza, then travel to the Bushnell and watch the musical together. We will return for pick up at the Teen Center at 10:15pm. This is a great opportunity to see a live performance at The Bushnell for only $15.00! Permission Slips available Mon-Thursday 11:30am-5:00 at the TEEN CENTER. This is for Students, not Families. Thank you.
