  • The TEMS Boys soccer team battled Tolland last night to a 0-0 tie between the top two teams in the CRAL.  There were many chances from both sides, however, Tolland may have had the best chance when they rattled the crossbar late in the second half.  Field conditions played apart in the composure of the players on both sides, but the intensity was as high as ever throughout the contest.  Joey Bemis and Jude Gonzalez combined for the shutout in goal.  The Cougars play today at 3:30, weather permitting, and again on Thursday here at TEMS in both games.

  • The TE Field Hockey team beat Suffield Middle school yesterday with a score of 6-2. TE got out to an early lead with Kaitlyn Hardy scoring or the Cougars. Suffield quickly answered sneaking a goal past the TE goalie. The Cougars then took control of the game and scored 5 more goals unanswered. Scoring for the Cougars was Kaitlyn Hardy, Avery Yelle and Rachel Turrer with two goals a piece. Jordyn Boland had the only assist. Morgan Reed and Megan Stapelton played one of their best games yet on defense, holding Suffield out of the TE side of the field. Angelina Belizzi had 10 saves and was credited with the win. For the second game, TE again came away with the win with a score of 1-0. Vanessa Liegl scored the only goal on a break a way. Jillian Yelle, Caroline Jacobs and Izzy Dzubin also played very well. Elsa Gately had two saves with great clears to maintain the shutout. TE plays JFK of Enfield today at home. • The lady Cougars traveled to face league leaders Tolland yesterday afternoon in a physically demanding match up. The leaders in the back, Haley Butler, Huntyr Courtois, Mikayla Evans, Sidney Montana, and Hailey Testa proved to be vital in the outcome of the game. The five played outstanding between the lines and prevented a number of Tolland attempts on goal. In the beginning of the match, the Cougars struck first with a cross from Isabelle Beaulieu finding the foot of Emerson Iacovelli. Half way through the second half, the Cougars put another on the scoresheet as midfielder Sam Grodovich assisted Arden Sansom who volleyed the cross into the top corner of the net. Late in the second half, Tolland struck twice to tie up the match. Plays of the game came from Haley Butler with 16 saves on the day and Huntyr Courtois who saved a shot off the goal line. The Cougars look forward to their next match this afternoon at Sage Park.

  • The girls soccer team hosted rivals Ellington on Tuesday afternoon in a physical match up. The Cougars were disciplined between the lines and battled to get on the score sheet early in the first half. Julia Jaworski, Mikayla Evans, Leighana Ferrabelo, and Cassie Polansky all had outstanding performances throughout the game. The Cougars were able to pull away with only a few minutes left in the first half as Emerson Iacovelli assisted Arden Sansom to put the Cougars ahead. Throughout the second half, the Cougars displayed their dominance putting another three on the board before the final whistle. Katelyn Roux scored an incredible solo goal as she swerved the ball into the top corner from outside the box. Sam Grodovich assisted Emerson Iacovelli mid-way through the second half, and Arden Sansom put the icing on the cake tallying another late goal securing the Cougar victory. Throughout the match, the Cougar defense locked down any threats of an Ellington attack and played confident between the lines. Haley Butler kept the Cougars composed and was able to maintain the clean sheet with 8 saves on the day. The Cougars host their last home game of the season vs. Illing this afternoon. Come out and support the team.

  • The TE boys soccer team took on the Wildcats of Ellington last night coming from behind to earn three points with a 3-2 victory. The Cougars allowed two first half goals for the first time all season, But they roared back in the second half to earn the win. Drew Monteserin found the back of the net early in the second half. Then it was Taylor Legault's turn after a nice passage of play along the right side of the field. Alex Ezedine started the move, Naol Tirfessa played a cheeky pass to Monteserin who crossed it into the box where Legault hammered it home sweetly. The third and final goal was Ezedine's by himself. He found himself in the box and slotted the ball past the keeper. The Cougars next game is on Thursday at Illing Middle School in Manchester.

  • Good Morning TE!  My name is Kat and my name is Hannah. We are 6th graders  and members of Girl Scout Troop 10943.  Our troop recently heard about a fellow TE student who experienced a fire in their home. We really want to help during this difficult time!  And we are hoping all of TE will want to help too.  Please consider donating a dollar (or more if you can) tomorrow that we can give the family to make this time a little easier.  Please bring your donation to your homeroom teacher tomorrow morning.  Your teacher will give you a sticker to wear that shows that you donated. There is a famous quote that shows how far $1 can go.  “Individually, we are one drop.  But together we are an ocean”  Let’s work together to do something big for this family. We hope you can make a small donation tomorrow and our TE classmate will see how much we all care. Thank you for helping!
