  • Attention all students: Order your TEMS 2019 yearbook online before June 1st to guarantee there is a book for you!! Order right from the TEMS webpage! Yearbook Distribution date is JUNE 12th, But if you didn't order one, we can't guarantee there will be one for you! Order your yearbook now!

  • Attention all Sixth Grade Band members, please report directly to the CAFETERIA with study materials for Band class this morning.  All Sixth Grade Band members should bring study materials both days and sit in the booth section of the cafeteria.  

  • Hello TE students! The TE Making Strides Relay for Life team is holding a hat day on Tomorrow Friday, May 10th. Bring in a $1 donation and you will get an entry into a drawing for 4 tickets to a May Yard Goats game, or a private guided tour of the stadium while attending a game at any time.

  • Do you know someone whose life has been affected by cancer? Of course you do - we all do. There is a Wall of Honor, near ALT 6, where everyone in the TE community can write down names of survivors, patients, and victims of cancer to show that everyone is affected by this. Paper bag cutouts are at the bulletin board and main office - pick one up today. Bring completed bags to Mrs. Cassidy in room 341 and she will post them on the wall.
  • Attention any 8th grader interested in being in the South Windsor High School Fall Musical next year:  Please join the Google Classroom to sign up and get audition music.  The class code is h4i3f7.  Please see Mrs. Gasta with any questions.

  • The softball team lost to Sage Park yesterday despite a stellar performance by Sienna Hart. The girls banged out 9 hit including a triple by Grace Beneshski and a double by Lylah Henneman. Also getting hits were Maggie Poulin, Ava Shasha, Iris Wen, Angelina Moundo, Adrianna Peruccio, Aricka Boosa and Taylor Nisrio.

  • CONGRATULATIONS to  Arnav Thakrar and Yunefei Zheng for their stellar performance at the Civics First Middle School Debate Competition last evening. Arnav and Yunfei successfully debated during both rounds of the competition. They advanced to the State Finals next Thursday in New Britain! Good luck, gentlemen.

  • The TE baseball team had another impressive victory vs. East Hartford on Tuesday afternoon defeating the Falcons by a score of 20 to 6.  Leading the way for the Cougars was Colin Heslin with 4 hits including 2 doubles and 3 RBI and Sam Pines with three hits including a double and 1 RBI.  Brayden Dill chipped in with 2 hits to aid the balanced offensive assault.  On the mound, Andrew Goulet picked up his second win of the season.  The Cougars improve to 5 wins and no losses on the season and are in first place in the league. They face second place Sage Park today at Orchard Hill Park...come out to support the Cougars!!   

  • Do you have books that are taking up space and collecting dust on your shelves?  Well then, please donate your books to the South Windsor Girl Scouts.  Your donated books will go to a local hospital to give to a sick child to help brighten their day.  A box will be placed in your team area from May 6th to May 17th for your donation.  Thank you for helping out the Girl Scouts and for making a child's day brighter.

  • In girls softball yesterday the hitters were outstanding. Leading the way were Iris Wren,Taylor Nisrio and Aricka Boosa with two hits each. Sienna  Hart, Ava Shasha, Taylor Kehoe, Maggie Poulin, Grace Benashski and Lily McCully each chipped in with a hit. Taylor Nisrio was able to strike out eleven East Hartford hitters in a 13-8 loss. The team travels to Sage Park to play today.

  • Tryouts for the 2019-2020 Cheerleading team are scheduled for May 13, 14 & 16 5:00-7:00pm in the SWHS main gym.  This tryout is for athletes interested in cheering for Fall Season, Winter Season, or both Fall and Winter seasons.  This will be the only open tryout for the 2019-2020 season, there will not be any additional open tryouts held next year.  If you are interested in trying out please check out our instagram@swbvc or visit swbvc.wordpress.com for more information!

  • This week, May 6-10 is School Nutrition Employee Week. Between preparing healthy meals for students, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, school nutrition professionals are true heroes.  Please be sure to thank our food service staff for all of their hard work.

  • This is a reminder that Out of the Blue will NOT be meeting today.  All students should go home on their regular bus.

  • On Saturday May 4th, students from across Connecticut gathered at Central Connecticut State University to participate in the annual Connecticut History Day competition. Congratulations to: 

Bhaavni Krishna, Taruni Pendyala and Saanvi Rao, who presented their Group Performance titled  “ Isabella Beecher Hooker – A CWSA Story” and  received a Special Award for  “Outstanding Entry Related to a Connecticut Woman”.

Iniya Raja received a 2nd Place SILVER Medal for her Solo Performance titled “Eugenic Roles: Dead Souls and Birth Controls”

Valli Pendyala and Ria Saxena who received 1st Place GOLD Medals for their Group Documentary titled “ NASA’s Inferno – A Tragedy that Led to the Moon”

Iniya, Valli and Ria qualified to compete at National History Day on June 9th through June 13th at the University of Maryland.

Congratulations to all participants and good luck at Nationals!

Don’t delay!!  Come on down and see Mrs. Longo in the Library Media Center or check out the TEMS LMC page for a list of the Nutmeg Nominees. Seriously, you don't want to miss this opportunity to get your hands on the books everyone is talking about!!

Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's fundraiser, and money raised goes to research and patient support. Please support our team and visit Jersey Mike's between April 29th and May 5th.   • The girls bats came to life in a defeat to Ellington yesterday. Lilly’s Henneman led the way with a double and a home run. Contributing with singles were Lily McCully, Maggie Poulin, Taylor Nisrios, and Leylean Garcia who also had the catch of the day.  The girls next game will be Tuesday at home against East Hartford. Come on out and see the girls play.

  • The Timothy Edwards baseball team once again received solid pitching from Ben Balducci and rallied in the 6th inning to score 3 runs to seal a 4 to 1 victory over the Ellington Wildcats.  Balducci pitched 5 scoreless innings and only gave up 2 hits along the way.  The Cougars defense also turned 3 double plays in the game.  In the bottom of the 6th inning with the score tied 1 to 1, Mike Foran singled and plated 2 runs and then Nathan Grilli doubled home Foran with an insurance run.  Foran led the offense with 2 singles.  TE improves to 4 wins and no losses on the season.  Up next is an away game at East Hartford on Tuesday.

  • The girls softball team lost 13-5 against JFK Middle School. Scoring for the Cougars were Aricka Boosa, Ava Shasha, Taylor Nisrio and Sienna Hart. The catch of the day was made by Lily McCully in center field. The girls travel to Ellington on Wednesday.
