  • This is a Purple week. It is a Day 3 for Grade 6 and a Day 1 for Grades 7 & 8. 
  • The Teen Center is open! They are open from 2:00-4:00 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, following the same cohort as the schools. Due to limited space, please call to reserve a spot.  Come enjoy snacks, interactive games and fun crafts.
  • TEMS Winter Matinee will be offering after school activities beginning on February 1st! The sessions will run for eight weeks.  Sessions are FREE! Students are responsible for providing materials for the selected activity. All activities will be online and require both Wi-Fi and a device. Please review the Winter Matinee Catalog to view the available sessions and details of the program.  You must also sign up  for your activity online.  Links and details are available on the school website, and all our social media accounts. As the number or participants for each activity is limited, sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. If selected, students will be contacted with more information once the activity sessions have been formed.

  • Attention Entertainers:  Today's choreography rehearsal is for the entire cast.  Ms. Lyons looks forward to seeing you on the Google Meet at 3:00.  Ms. Sitarz will be meeting with all leads today during the rehearsal to test out recording the dialogue between songs.  Students playing the characters of Tom, George, Dori, Shulie, Joe, Dina and Janet should plan to stay on the Meet after Ms. Lyon has dismissed the rest of the cast.

  • Today is our "Having a Voice" morning for January, so after announcements, all students should log in to your Having a Voice Google Classroom and take the survey on handling stress and finding fun during life in a pandemic. We will be holding lunches next Thursday to discuss the topic further for students who are interested. Please indicate that with your name and homeroom at the end of the survey if you'd like to be considered for this lunch discussion group. We will draw names if we have over twenty students per grade and you will be notified by an email. Thank you for taking the time to have a voice!

  • Attention 6th and 7th graders: the second quarter ends on January  26 - that is Tuesday! Be sure to hand in your missing or incomplete work, see a teacher for extra help, and give a little extra effort to finish strong this quarter!
  • Today is our "Having a Voice" morning for January. After announcements, all students should login to the Having a Voice Google Classroom and take the survey on handling stress and finding fun during life in a pandemic. We will be holding lunches next Thursday to discuss the topic further for students who are interested. If you would like to be considered for participating in the lunch discussion group, please indicate that with your name and homeroom at the end of the survey. We will draw names if we have over twenty students per grade and you will be notified by an email. Thank you for taking the time to have a voice!

  • The South Windsor Patriotic Commission has announced their annual contest for the young residents of South Windsor in connection with the Memorial Day commemoration activities to be held on Monday, May 31, 2021. The contest features essay topics for different grade levels. Middle School students are asked to write an essay addressing the question, “How I can promote patriotism?” (350 words or less). All entries must be received by the Patriotic Commission no later than Monday, March 1, 2021. The first place prize for the winner of each grade level is a $100.00 Barnes and Noble Gift Card. The second place prize is a $50 gift card and the third place prize is a $25 gift card.  Please see your Social Studies teachers or Mrs. Slogesky, Curriculum Specialist, for the contest flyer and more information.

  • Are you interested in geography? Timothy Edwards and the South Windsor High School Social Studies Honor Society will be hosting a Geography Bee on January 20th at 3:00. To participate, join the Google Classroom using code 2pc2wpm. Please join by Monday, January 18th. Thanks, and we hope to see you there, where we will determine a GeoBee champion!
  • Schools are closed Monday January 18th,  in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The holiday is recognized annually on the third Monday in January, which is near Dr. King’s birthday, January 15th. Dr. King was a key voice of the American civil rights movement, which worked for equal rights for all. He was famous for using nonviolent resistance to overcome injustice and worked to end segregation laws. In 1964, King received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts and achievements. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an opportunity to remember and honor Dr. King and his legacy.
